Explaining menopause to men - help?
Comments (9)Don't forget, in a lot of instances, hubbies enjoy menopause along with us. I started with the first hints in my early 40's, and it took maybe 5-6 years to get to the end of that particular stage of life for me. Sure there were hot flashes, the cranky moments, BUT there were also the testosterone surges. DH and I had some of the most frequent, and innovative 'togetherness' in all our 37 years, during that span of time. He often enjoyed menopause with me 4-5 times a day, most days of the week (it's a wonder the poor guy could get up in the morning to go to work). On the more serious side, I guess I was lucky--my husband is pretty well-informed about the human body, and was pretty understanding (although, I'm sure the fringe benefits helped him overlook some of the rougher patches--LOL). I do agree, that as women, we need to get back to being a little more practical. Menopause is NOT a sickness--even though it's often treated as one. It's a normal and natural part of life. Something everyone will go through if she lives long enough. It may be slightly uncomfortable at times, but it's temporary. I think it's a shame that so many women have been told that menopause is something they should fight, should be 'treated' for with drugs, etc. Hey, my point of view? I had my own little furnace. It was nice to know that if I got cold in the winter, in a few minutes, I'd be warm as toast. Not saying I wasn't a witch (sp--LOL) at times, but I refused to look at it as anything more than the next adventure of life....See Moreleft breast tenderness
Comments (2)Dear Scottishlass16: About two years ago I was having pain in my left breast. Finally went to have a diagnostic mammogram. I was braced for bad news, but then they told me there was nothing there wrong and that it was probably caused by hormonal fluctuations. I was 50 at the time and in perimenopause. I hope you will get it checked out with a mammogram. Sasha...See Moresupport
Comments (1)Premenopause is not that scary. I do not know about the reason behind your 'light headiness'. However other symptoms are signs of premenopause, I am sure. There are many books on amazon relating to women's health and the use of all natural yam base progesterone cream. You can start by the ones written by Dr. John Lee and Virginia Hopkins. I personally prefer using organic natrual progesterone, free of pesticides and preservatives. I have also learned a lot about how natural hormone replacement can make you look younger and feel better from Dr. Ray Peat's website. If over the progesterone cream is not enough to make your symptoms go away, try to add in yam root extract, Lady's Mantle herb, or even 10 to 15 mg daily of pregnenolone. Good luck to you. Comments (14)I love to see pics too! Often times I forget to take a pic but can find one online of the same dish. Spicy Georgia Peach Chicken 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves salt and pepper 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon butter ý cup light brown sugar ý cup Hidden Valley Original Ranch Spicy Ranch Dressing 2 tablespoons prepared Dijon mustard 1 can (15-ounce) sliced peaches, drained and cut into chunks Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, over medium heat add the olive oil and heat until shimmering. Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until golden and juices run clear. Remove the chicken to a plate. Reduce the heat and add the butter, melt the butter together with the brown sugar, stirring until smooth. Stir in both the dressing and mustard, stirring until bubbly. Return the chicken to the pan, add the peaches and cook until heated through. Serve immediately. With the big chicken breast I have been getting lately it would take longer to cook them till done. I think a few pieces of pineapple or mandarin would be good in there too. click to enlarge...See Moresharli
