Now it's time to pick a faucet

I have decided on the sink. I am getting a Blanco Silgranit Sink in black. I am wanting to get a stainless steel faucet to match our stainless steel appliances. Does anyone have any pictures or comments on faucet ideas. I like the faucets with a pull down spray function. I like the Grohe Bridgeford pulldown but it does not come in stainless steel. How do people feel about the handle on the side? What do you think is better, the handle on the left or right?

I think it depends on whether you're right- or left-handed...

Most of them can be rotated so they're on either side; we have a pulldown (Ikea Elvedram) with the lever installed to the rh side and like it very much.

We seriously considered two - both in stainless steel. We chose the Danze Parma - the first pic. The second pic is a Kitchenaid - pricey but nice. We are planning to put our single lever control in the middle. I think??? Guess I am not sure yet :-)

Well, Mike, as with all citrus the bloom time, maturity time, harvest time are different with every latitude and altitude. My dates are based on California; but the color and the re-greening are constants, no matter what the time. Would you believe that I can't even tell my associate growers when their Meyers will bloom? Our strategy is to have multiple altitudes and latitudes and micro climates so as to produce lemons the whole year. At the moment we have trees at the beach producing at one year; we have trees at 7,500 feet producing at 1 year; and trees at 3,500 feet of which 70% are setting fruit at 10 months. I THINK the ideal altitude at this latitude (15 deg. N) is 1,500 to 2,000 feet; but that is based on NO evidence; because no one has done it before.

In my last msg second one is Pfister, and last two are Kraus. I usually look on faucet.com because they have a wide selection. I was playing off the square part of your faucet with that second choice, but I see what you mean about round stems. How about... This one is fun and unusual with curves and square... Curves: There are so many fun ones. Not much help am I? My honest opinion is the second one of the two you selected looks like a built in soap dispenser. Thus not my fav. There are too many other possibilities that won't encourage someone to push down on the top hoping for soap! ;) Good luck.

Buying fixtures NOW-- Faucet Direct v. Faucet Warehouse???

I purchased all my bathroom wall accessories (towel bars, rings, hooks, grab bars etc) from faucet warehouse. I spoke with them on the phone first. One difference with them is that they actually stock the items so they were able to verify a finish color for me. I have Hansgrohe fixtures but I purchased Moen accessories due to the close finish of the grab bar. I received great pricing (~40% less than retail) and great service.

OOOOh I really love your kitchen. I especially like the window wall. If it were mine, I would definitly go all the way to the ceiling on the window wall. Shouldnt give opinions tho...I still havnt picked a backsplash and we have had our granite since November lol. Im a loser. I dont want to commit. Im scared when I do it I will see somthing else out there that I like much better. Anyway, I will probably just go with a crackle finish subway tile, with a different pattern over the cooktop. A subway tile would look good in your kitchen too, maybe in a different size like a 2x8. Also, a cool glass in a 4x4 or bigger. There are some new ones out there by "Mirage Glass Tile" in a 3x6 subway. They have a 4X12 tile that is New (really cool). That would look great I think. Check out the colors Fog, gray sky, ocean spray, and silver spring..lol. Sorry Im getting carried away but they are really pretty. Im not sure what color your granite is. So many choices to choose from, its hard to pick just one. Are you doing them yourself?? If someone is doing them for you, they will be able to tell you where to start and end when they come out to measure. They usually know how to do it so it will look the best. Does anyone have the Brizo Pascal? It has a hands free option...I looked at it yesterday but not sure if it is worth the price 768.00 with soap dispenser.

I'm also looking for a faucet. I love the look of the Parma. I've learned that you really can't just install a right-side handle so that it's on the left because then the hold/cold positions will be reversed. Also, many right-hand faucets have a small opening that doesn't show when it's installed correctly, but does show when it's reversed.
A question: do you have to keep pressing the "spray" control or is it like a switch that can be left in either position?

I went on the Brizo web site and saw the Pascal hands free faucet and I really like it. kent39 what web site did you see it on? Brizo was about $1100 with saop dispenser. Has anyone seen any other hands free kitchen faucets with a pull down.

I like these clean-lined contemporary faucets, but I'm wondering about how easy they are to turn on. With my cheapo Moen I can turn it on with my elbow when I'm covered in raw chicken, etc. Can you do that with those pictured above?

(Hands free is interesting, but out of my budget)

Check out the Kohler Fairfax (without the base plate) for a pull out sprayer, yet a more traditional look. Mine was installed in Dec. and so far I Love it!

kathyc618 - I saw the Brizo Pascal at Pacific sales. I thought is was really great...I think I would love it because I hate to touch my faucet right after I have touched raw meat. My DH said that it would just be one more thing to fix but the salesmen at PS said that he has not had any problems in the six years he has been selling them and plus the company has a lifetime warranty on it. They showed us a video at the store so you may want to go online and see if it is on their company website.

Thanks kent39. I have thought about Pacific Sales but have not gotten down there. I live about and hour away. I got all of my appliances there.

I would suggest buying a Tapmaster that can be used on any sink. Check out the thread titled, "To Tapmaster or Not to Tapmaster" -- very informative!

Can't they just reverse the hot and cold at the connection so that it lines up the right directions on the handle?
