oh for the good old days

hi all,

just feel like ranting today. I really wish I was still having regular periods cos it would be better than this bloody menopause. I've had enough of the headaches,the hot flashes,the weirder symptoms that my GP says has nothing to do with menopause. When,when, when will it all end. I feel like screaming.................

Oh Hun 49 susan isnt it? i really feel for you I understand where you are really i do all the symptoms you have are to do with menopause never mind what the doc says what do they know even women docs cannot explain away everything god alone knows when it will end but it must i feel like you do i think one minute theres a light at the end of the tunnel then the next its gone i go out of my way to speak to old women and ask them how was it for you and most of them reckon it wasnt that bad some dont even notice it how how how is that possible i wonder

hi beauty,
how are you? I thought you had given up with this forum. I was having a rant on the day I posted cos I had a few of the odder symptoms returning. However, at the moment I'm not too bad which is nice. I hope you are ok, but it seems you're going through the same as me. Some days I can be fine and then bam! out of the blue I'm dizzy, headaches, nausea, fatigue that is just overwhelming. The night sweats aren't shifting either although the flashes during the day aren't too bad. I found an old diary recently and believe it or not, it has been 10 years (yes 10) since I first started feeling bad! It has been one hell of a roller coaster ride believe me.

I think I started coming in to GWGJ about 2000 when I got my first computer. I am sure I had a different name. Lost my password and had to change. Might have been Tucker. I do not remember. I remember Jean in Wa and Wonder where Wendy is Do you all remember the Blue Moon night we all did some thing special and had an online party? I think it was 2004 or 2005. The Kansas City Star, local newspaper, featured a conifer garden in their Sunday edition. The article was so interesting my wife and I decided to contact the owner to see if we could visit the garden. The owner was Marvin Snyder a past president of the ACS. The garden in a residential setting is a product of 40 plus years of incorporating natural limestone rock, over 300 rare conifers and many deciduous companion plants. These three main ingredients make this conifer garden truly unique. There are also sculptures and fountains. That's how I got hooked...it took about an hour. My wife and I embarked on a new journey...create our own conifer garden. This was about ten years ago. We then purchased our first conifer a Howell's Tigertail. It is still with us today. This addiction comes on slowly almost unnoticed until those sudden impulses to visit the local nursery almost daily to look at the various plants. Studying each label to determine if your garden has a spot for the selected plant. Currently, we enjoy each season of the garden. We now anxiously await spring to incorporate new thoughts and ideas that have accumulated over the winter months. Dave

Sexual abuse, wife beating, inequality of women were always with us and no doubt always will be. Things were different back then, but "better" is open to debate. Nostalgic reminiscing is fun, though. It can depend a bit on your age - where in the old millenium you spent your childhood and formative years. After WWII when the vets came home, married, built or bought a house, started families just about anyone who wanted a job had one. (Not like today!) The future looked promising. Budgeting, saving, paying one's bills and meeting obligations was what people did even if it was difficult... and it often was. We kids played with toys that didn't do all the playing for us; spent a great deal of time outdoors both in the summer and winter. We used our imaginations and learned to amuse ourselves; learned to transport ourselves by opening a book. Hard to believe now that getting the old piece of furniture black & white TV was life changing! Kids today are a lot more cosmopolitan and worldly wise than we ever were, but many are going to be struggling to find a decent job - or a continuous string of decent jobs - and the money to move out of the folk's basement. Even with all the electronic toys, they're not going to have it easy by any stretch of the imagination. Although I had a very pleasant childhood and life, in general, was good, I have no desire to go back.

Didn't make that one, but went to Woodstock...sorta. We actually had tickets. We got within a mile or so. The traffic was stop and go so my friend decided to ride on the trunk of my MGB and flirt with all the guys. Stupid girl fell off and moaned and groaned so much we turned around and left. She decided she wasn't gonna die, so we went and partied at Misquamicut. Another lost weekend.

Hi again ten years OMG now i am bothered i keep fooling myself thinking ah i might be seeing the light at the end of the never ending tunnel it should be re-phrased The never Ending trauma / story whatever cos there is always a new chapter lol keep well ok shelly aka beauty NOT ha ha fat and nearly 50 very menopausal long suffering crazy doctor stalking has been.
