Sanitize or Allergene cycle for sheets and towels. Hot/boiling water works; I'll only consider washers with an onboard heater. Double and triple rinse; I won't buy a washer without multiple rinse options. Get a washer with super high spin speeds to extract as much soapy water as possible with each rinse. The drive toward energy savings, specifically less water and cold temps, has resulted in filthy laundry with detergent residue. If the detergent were really being rinsed out with just the standard cold wash, one rinse cycles, why would so many people need "Free and Clear" detergents? I actually read advice online that said when your towels start to smell bad, you know it's time to replace them. Huh? Send them through the sanitize cycle with a commercial laundry detergent instead. If washers have gotten so energy efficient that we're throwing out perfectly good towels, you have to wonder just how much eco-savings we've achieved.

@Blue Choosing a washer can feel like a graduate level research project. Such a relief to finally get a choice made, eh? Now, it is going to be your turn to help others. Please let us know what you chose (the one that nobody mentioned here) and please report back how it works out for you. Don't worry that somebody might hate or mock your choice. Every appliance choice will be a mix of engineering tradeoffs and design compromises, both limited by budget. On the internet, there always will be somebody who will hate your choice regardless of your budget, space, etc., let alone whether the choice works well enough for you. Your report will help others in your position with their process of working through their own choices. LOL on the YouTube channel. I only work behind cameras. I'm mostly retired, and most of what I'm doing these days is for musicians, choirs and dancers. No video help there for choosing appliances.

I'm on windows 11 and Mozilla I'm having the problem of the page disappearing after I enlarge a picture and then x out of the enlarged picture.

So frustrating - this is what the GC just wrote to me in response to the pics and conerns about "blocking" drilled into wall board instead of into studs: I just spoke with our plumber about this. He told me that the blocking is absolutely sufficient and the only issue creating any wobbling is that the sink is not meant to be be wall mounted and is not intended to hang off of that bracket by itself. He is certain that this is a bad idea, and wants me to stress that he thinks that if there is enough clearance under the new sink for the cross bars to be cut and legs moved, that is a far better solution. Regardless of the sink, all sinks I am seeing that do not sit on the floor need to be anchored to the wall with appropriate backing even if they have a pedestal or console legs. I'm not sure why he is consulting a plumber as this really is a carpentry issue but they do their own carpentry, which apprearantly isn't very well informed.
