Baking using a bread machine

I didn't want to high jack the other thread about money savings with a bread machine.

I've been looking at buying one for the last 6 months as bread that is good and I can purchase around where we live often have milk in them or made in an area with potential cross contamination and my daughter is very allergic to milk proteins, so we don't eat much bread.

However, what I wonder is how much time it really saves me and how much time would I actually have to spend on cleaning the thing. Is it really as simple as adding the ingredients and walking away? It just seems too easy that way.

I would really like for it to be that easy as I have very little time for cooking and most my cooking is prep in the morning, put in the pre-heated oven as soon as we get home.

If the bread machine could make my life easier I would definetly buy one. What do ya'll think?
