I love the foliage on this shrub. Like the name says, it has a shining slightly wet sheen to it. I find the habit to be a little different from most Weigela's in the sense that the branches don't fill in the somewhat open spots as much. I agree with bboy that not all shrubs need that meatball shape and if I worked at it, I could probably get it to that form. But, I like the more natural look on this one. This is it's 4th season in the garden. It started as a 5 inch babe and now the height is about 3.5' and the spread is about 5' which is consistent with last season and the very end of the season before that. Best of luck!

They are all beautiful, not a single one I wouldn't pick. Of course Green Mystique has an advantage being so nicely arranged bouquet and it's my favorite. Columbus is so cute sitting there :) How good Sp Easy Rider looks in the afternoon! It wasn't a very hot day here yesterday but quite humid and my daililies looked cooked :( I didn't pay much attention because I was liveheading during commercial breaks ;)) but I think Wild Horses looked the best in the evening, as it usually does.

I also have the same problem with FE Series "Double Pink" I didnt bring it up because I didnt want to confuse anyone. I bought the Double pink with a few blooms on it and didnt have an excuse why it wasnt blooming. I went to FE website and noticed the Double Pink is no longer offered and neither is Red Sensation. Their Red Hydrangea is simply called "Red" now. Seems both Red Sensation & Double Pink have been discontinued. I feel like a test dummy...lol...leaves a bad taste in my mouth to ever buy a FE Hydrangea again. I dont want to spend years again waiting for a hydrangea to bloom, just to find out it was a dud. They have months left at best in my yard if they dont produce here soon and my money is on they wont. I have 5 Hydrangeas in pots I winterize already and dont want more in pots. I bought them to be planted in my yard...lol... Thank you for bringing it to my attention that it was a new cultivar and prompted me to check their website. I would never buy a FE Hydrangea unless it was in bloom to prove what it is. Along with checking on the web that others in colder climates have had success with that particular one. I have multiple years success with FE Series: FE Original, Blue Heaven, Peppermint & Together. Summer lace I bought last year and seems to have proven to be worthy also. Rebloomed last year and has put buds on new growth this year also. I see FE has many new exciting Hydrangeas I didnt know they offered now, but I wont be their test dummy again. It's a shame they apparently rushed hydrangeas to market that werent proven and I wont take that chance again.

I felt the vibrating in my left arm for the time today, so I did internet search to look for possible cause. It led me to this conversation. I am diabetic (30 years) and just recently got a CGM. I have alarm for high blood glucose readings set to vibrate. When I felt the sensation today, I assumed I had better check my phone app to see what was going on with sugar level. I looked for my phone, and was surprised to see it lying on the table in front of me. Not "attached to me" in the pocket next to my stomach where I normally keep it. Scared me. Interested that so many diabetics seem to report similar problem. Just had Doc appt yesterday, so won't see him again for 3 months. Definitely something to discuss. I'm wondering why left arm though. Is diabetes really that specific? :-) Thanks to all for sharing!
