Standby Recipes

Do you have any standby recipes that you used to make ages ago and got burned out on them and forgot about them?

I used to make these blonde brownies all the time in high school - we had them on every band bus trip out of town as far as I can remember.

For some odd reason, I happened to think of them yesterday and dragged out the recipe book. I'm waiting on my pecans I ordered from Whaley Pecan Company in Troy, Alabama (shameless plug here) so I can bake them and reminisce.

Here's the recipe:

BLONDE BROWNIES

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened

1 lb. box light brown sugar

3 large eggs

2-2/3 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts

1 (12 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips

1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream butter (or margarine) and sugar. Add vanilla. Add eggs; beat well. Add dry ingredients and stir until combined. Fold in nuts and chips. Pour into a greased jellyroll pan (11- x 15- x 1-inch). Bake at 350° F. for 25 to 30 minutes.
