We have some chairs left from a 1960's blond veneer dining room set we got when we were first married. I had them painted a white (BM Impervo in Acacia white) along with other chairs we've aquired. I upholstered them with black and white fabrics, (covered with clear vinyl---I have 3 kids)and I think they work well with our black dining table (we didn't paint that). I like the combination of the painted black and white together. Here is a pic of my kitchen cabs we painted the same color, truer representation of the white, more cream than lighting in dining room.

I'm really into grey right now, so that is my vote. I see a few patches of grey on the wall next to the fireplace, window and backsplash and think it looks nice. My purpose of using grey is to make other accents in the room stick out -- in your case, the Blue would really "POP" as well as your woodwork. It would be a LOT of grey though. As an alternative, you might want to think about painting the ceiling white above the cut-line which would include the Vaulted Ceiling, the Kitchen Ceiling and the Fireplace Wall. Tricky ceiling angles. mmmmhhh. P.S. What's up with that little clock on that big wall so high up. How do you change the batteries? LOL. Just messin' with ya. Cool room BTW -- :)

I love most greens in the sage family with leather furniture, stonework, and wood but I must agree with Graywings - wait for the floors and stone. I will have to disagree on the "neutral" of hardwood. I have unstained, clear poly finished red oak with very little little natual lighting in my LR. They read "orange" to me. It is the most difficult room I have ever tried to find paint for. I will admit that most shades of green look good with wood, and the Svelte Sage that Jeana recommended should look good with most wood floors, but in my house it (because of the lighting)is "dark/gloomy/dreary". Where it looks sagey green in most homes, it looks blue in mine. I have the same problem with tans. Some look dirty, some look pink, etc. Again, most of my problems is due to poor lighting. Look at your wood species and the stain you are using. Will they be red oak or white oak or walnut or cheery. Will you stain have golden or red or brown undertones. It DOES make a difference. Definitely black! I have had black counter stools w/ backs - used everyday for at least 15 years. They were not terribly expensive, but were made in Italy - bought them from Spiegle before it was so normal to order furniture thru catalogs! :) They do not show anymore dust than other furniture. Scratches are easy to fix ( really camouflage with a sharpie). Decorating is easier with black, in my opinion. I also bought the dining room set from the previous owners of the house we are in. What was I thinking??????? The chairs are shiny black enamel; while it looks pretty, it does show every spec of dust, but so does the glass top so they match! I think the Lantana set looks better in the black. It looks ordinary in the brown, and I would want to see the actual finish in person before considering purchasing the brown. Black is a safer purchase. I am partial to black in decorating and in clothing, so my opinion may not count so much. I love black.
