What a beautiful kitchen sheilaaus122! Are you for sure replacing the furniture in the Family room? If you do, will it be with blue again? If not, I would not get blue in the drapes. I would go with a neutral like the white or beige you mentioned above. I do like your furniture in the family room though. Looks very comfy!

I like my furniture in the family room too- and I love blue (can ya tell?) but in my earlier post I was explaining that the cushions have just really lost whatever shape//support they had and I keep putting it off but I have to do something as it is not so comfy anymore. I would consider reupholstery if it would be reasonable, or geting new. I don't seem to find any blues in the stores any more although it seems to be coming back- just not where I see it IRL.
So since I don't know what i am doing for seating but the kitchen verticals are bothering me--
I thought white panels could work. DH(who usually stays out of it because he totally cannot visualize) remarked that he thoought it woudl look really blah/nothing.

do you think I could simply do panels on the sliders and not continue in the family room?
and since white/beige would be safe/neutral do you think those would work?
I do NOT sew, so gorgeous as the curtain are that oceanna and forboystoo showed, I was hoping they might be ready made..........

I really think I would wait until you decide what you're going to do in the FR. But, if you definitely want to do something now, I agree with Boopadaboo and go with a neutral. How about something like this, in the natural color?

I believe the gal who runs the mustard seed blog sewed them herself. I would take one of your sofa pillows to the fabric store and look for a damask or another blue and white (only) fabric you like that matches or at least goes well, then make your own, or pay someone to make them for you.

Yes I think it's okay not to do them in the fam rm but I would do a topper in the same fabric, just for cohesion.

Dee- those are very pretty panels!

The waverly panels look great and of course the price makes them even prettier. I didn't realize but apparently we do have a Tueday morning store within about 15 miles from here so I may just try to see them in person and see. I don't know if it is only blue and white or if there is any beige/tan in the panels. I still will hold off until I figure out what I am doing couch wise, but they are cheap enough to maybe try out for now.
I am also interested in the blind/panels from JCPenny but I have not seen anything like that in person and can't get a handle on what they are really like ...
We don't really need to close the blinds for privacy just occassionally for the sun and those look to be too sheer.but I could be wrong.

If I did get panels like the waverly ones, would I need 2 sets? Can I say again that I love this forum and that is one amazing find. thank you thank you
If I looked at solids.would I be better with white or a shade closer to the wall color?

Thank you mom2seth- a visual is great and yours looks great. I don;t have any separation though between the rooms- I see you havea sort of soffit(?) and more wall space but I think I am going to try it.
I was hoping to take a ride to Tuesday Morning to see the waverly panels and try them. I have looked more online and they look like they may be possibly too bright (and blue and white only no tan) but not sure. If the weather cooperates I will try it out.
They are predicting another snow tomorrow so far...
I wanted to say also that looking at Tuesday morning website, they also have faucets- moen and other good brands.Who knew???

Have you looked at linensource? I had a GW intrusion moment the other morning. :) I saw some blue and white? cream? panels in their catalog and thought of your room. I can't remember if they were white or cream though.
