Our refrigerator died suddenly and we had to get a new one right away. I really hate having to buy something fast but it was either that or live out of an ice chest that my husband pulled out of the garage. We spent 3 days checking out Sears, Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Pacific Sales, The Great Indoors, and a few locally owned appliance stores. ItÂs surprising how all the refrigerators started to look the same after a while but we finally decided on the brand/model we wanted. Now it was down to price. Over the last 1 1/2 years, we have had to replace all our appliances except for our stove. All have lasted us between 15-17 years so I canÂt complain. We bought our new front load washer/dryer from The Great Indoors. The price couldnÂt be beat by any other store and the salesperson was so helpful that when our dishwasher bit the dust a few months later, we went back. Once again he gave us the best price and great/friendly/helpful service. Our third appliance to go was our oven. Again we shopped all over and ended up buying at Pacific Sales. The price was the best and the salesperson was a pleasure to deal with, very professional and courteous. Our oven was installed last week. As for the refrigerator, Pacific Sales didnÂt carry the model we wanted. Although I shop a lot at Best Buy, their salesperson did nothing for us so they were out. The salesperson we encountered at Sears bent over backwards to try and help us. We didnÂt make it easy for him because we were so undecided but he stuck in there. We came back 3 times and he was very patient and understanding. Sears was having a big sale but someone else said that The Great Indoors was having a huge 1 day sale. We ended up getting a better price at The Great Indoors but since the Sears guy was so kind, I wanted to give him one last chance. We let him know that the decision was up to him for the sale. He beat the price and we got free delivery. He really earned the sale and we got a fantastic price. The refrigerator was delivered 2 weeks ago. We started having a problem with the doors squeaking right away. Called service and they came out very fast. They fixed the problem but it reappeared a few days later. Again service came out right away but this time they recommended replacing the refrigerator. Wow, how honest can you get? Most repair places would string you along for quite a while before admitting that you got a bad appliance. We should be getting our new refrigerator next week. Sears gets an A+ for both sales and service.

hi. it's true they do charge a 15% restocking even if you are just exchanging not actually returning. i came up on this situation just last week. i was originally debating between the LG WM2233 washer/dryer combo and and WM 2016 washer/dryer combo. however, the WM2233 it was out of stock and i needed a washing machine asap so i went for the lower priced and not as feature packed WM2016. took delivery and really liked both the washing machine and dryer. they are both great! however, i started thinking about a couple of extra washing cycles that i wanted (sanitary and quick wash) and the fact that the matching dryer for the WM2233 has a stainless steel drum, the dryer for the WM2016 doesn. plus i liked the chrome surrounds as opposed to the silver ones. in any case, i went last week to exchange, actually, upgrade to the LG WM2233 and that's when i found out about the 15% restocking fee even if you are just exchanging! however, i had a great sales associate (shout out to Joan at the Northridge California Sears!) who called the customer service number for me and helped me get a exchange w/o the restocking fee! a received a call from Sears a couple of days later confirming the exchange and delivery schedule and...get this...WAIVING the price difference! can you believe it?! in this instance Sears really came through for me and even went beyond! so i am satisfied and my new set is being delivered this Friday! sorry for being so long winded but i just wanted to acknowledge when companies actually do well by their customers as sears has done for me. i will definitely buy future appliances from Sears.

3 children - I bet you do a lot of laundry! I would want to keep it simple, too. Better be careful on this forum or the laundrymaniacs will have you using 7 different detegents with 9 additives :) Seriously, I used the Sears Free and Clear powder for about a year and liked it very much. I think the Stain Fighting version may have another additive but it smells bad. I got tired of dealing with my big tub of Sears soap so I recently switched to the new Method pump in Free and Clear and it is better than anything else I have used. It has enzymes in it and also makes a great stain pre-treater. You will get many different opinions here on whether powders are better then liquids. I don't think it matters much - I have used both in my FL with no problems. IMHO liquids are less messy and take up less space, but I have a small laundry area. Do the other varieties ever go on sale (ie w/fabric softener or w/oxy)? Been tracking for a while, but never seem to catch it. TIA
