What's the special occasion?

My Filipino friend's twin brothers are down (both 20, one gay the other not and both about 5 feet tall, simply adorable) from New Jersey. She wants to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with them since they are here now before they go back to school! Of course I threw thew those pecans away and spent another 8 dollars on a bag of pecans that I didn't burn. I wanted to do some of the baking last night so I wouldn't be overwhelmed. Now for the pumpkin cheesecake pie! Where's that silly apron? :o)

I like "extra dark" pretzels, which are pretzels that have been slightly burnt. I like burnt sugar cookies. I wouldn't hesitate to eat that pie. To me, burning the pecans would only make the flavor more intense.

Sorry. That's happened to me when I was toasting almonds, even with a timer.

For pie I just put the pecans in untoasted and, believe me, it comes out just fine -- maybe try that next time.
