Dianne, I forget, when was your surgery?

I remember my sister in law saying:"having kids was less painful", right after her surgery.

But within a week, it was all better, and now-a-days she says it was well worth it.

Please, hang in there. It will get better!

My SIL had this done. I recall she said it was painful but she's healed and happy not to worry anymore. Keep your ointments handy, you'll feel better soon too.

I'm so sorry you are in pain. They need to come up with a topical pain reliever for this kind of surgery.

Moni, my surgery was Monday.

my dh has hemorrhoids and uses a topical cream when they are acting up. buys it otc locally, it is called nupercainal. he says it works really well.

When I had the surgery I took pain pills that made me both constipated and dizzy. I hated the pills but the pain was very intense. I did not go to the bathroom for over a week. The doctor was very concerned. I'm not going to tell you the details. I soaked in the bathtub as much as possible. It took about tens days for the pain to subside.
When this is over stay away from nuts, seeds and popcorn. Eat fiber cereal, apples and dried prunes.

Oooo! (((((((Diane!)))))) Everyone is right, this too shall pass, probably in a day or two you'll start to feel the pain lessen. Vitamin C helps mucus membranes (sp) heal faster, my dentist told me this after having a wisdom tooth removed. Mucus membranes are 'down there' too, maybe that could help? Hang in there, sweetie! After our surgeon retired, he had a hemorrhoidectomy. Later, he told my DH that he'd never shown enough sympathy to his patients....LOL! It's a pain that has to be experienced to be understood, he said.

I agree with Annette...see if someone can get you some Nupercainal. It's a lot better that Preparation H for the pain. We keep it on hand at all times because it's a good topical ointment for other things, as well. In fact, DH had to rush our unused tube over to a friend's one night because he was in such pain from hemorrhoids that he couldn't get comfortable for sleep. The friend was impressed with the pain relief. We get it at a local drugstore because our closest Walmart doesn't have it.

Oh, and remember that some pain pills can cause constipation...something you want to avoid right now, for sure ;-)

Hope your pain is subsiding by now. You really will feel better soon!

Every day you will feel a little better. Keep telling yourself that. I'm recovering from a different type of surgery, and give myself that pep talk. Do you have a DVD or video recorder? Maybe someone can get you some great movies/shows to make the time pass quickly.

Your surgery was Monday. The best thing abut that is, today is Friday! You might not feel it now but each day you will get better and better. You have made it this far and you will make it the rest of the way. Just focus on how much better you will feel when this is all over...and it WILL be over very soon. Hang in there, Kid-O! and remember...You are a WOMAN! 'We' can get through anything!

When i had mine done they had me apply hot witchhazel compressess several times a day,and mine was a double whammy as i had also just delivered my son and also had those stitches to contend with.The compressess did help though.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain right now! But like everyone said...it will get better. I'm assuming the pain is inside? But if it's external then I agree with using Nupercainal. I had some sores from my radiation and the Nupercainal was a life saver!

Diane...last year my husband had to have surgery to repair a tear "there"...from having a prostate check. Rough doctor....lol

Anyway he had a LOL of pain before and after..but it didn't take too long for it to heal and he felt MUCH better.

I'm sure in a few days all will be better. But I would, like you are watch what I'm eating...

Good Lord Dianne,I know EXACTLY what you are going thru.
Mine have prolapsed,and surgery is booked for March as it stands right now
I found the culprit to what is keeping all of this active for me...the darned water....I have quit drinking it,have bottled only,and so far today,so good.
Now that I hear what you are going thru with the surgery,I dont think I could take that..I have been in agony now over 4 months
