I essentially started my career in design when I was still in grade school. Whenever I needed a lift, I rearranged my bedroom furniture. It felt great to just change things around - give myself a different perspective. Little did I know when I was 10 years old that I would make such great use of that experience. And adding art is a big priority for me in helping clients now. So often, when a client calls and says they like their furniture, but still feel something is just not right -- it is usually a complete lack of art, or a poor arrangement. Nice post on these ideas!

Great ideas. I wanted to add one more to your mix -- particularly since it reminds me of your last photo. This one combines your wallpaper-in-a-weekend idea with decorative painting that has already been done. Our hand-painted, faux zebrawood finish is printed onto removable and reusable wallcovering. It comes in multiple colors and can be customized to any color choice for an easy weekend project.

Great ideas.I think I might have changed the symmetry up just a bit with the room design called,Renovate your mantle. Love the 2matching sofas, and 2 chairs with that beautiful table, but the rocking chairs throw it off a touch. I would have loved to see a large, long ,low ottoman in that spot with a bold pattern bringing in the creams, earth tones and that rich orange of the chairs. Just another Interior Designers perspective.
