I haven't thought about who might win, but I have thought about how these young people might be affected by the experience of being on the show. When Scotty McCreery was crying about what happened with Jaycee during the group performances, and when he said he was afraid they only kept him on because of his deep voice, I thought this super nice, hometown boy who'd never experienced anything like this, would never be the same. Maybe it's just a matter of growing up faster than they would otherwise; I don't know.

I was afraid the producers would want to keep Ashley on for drama in the extreme--and its effects on the ratings. I was glad that didn't happen. I suspect Ashley has serious issues.

Since you ask, though, I'd guess Lauren Alaina has a shot at the top spot. I hope somewhere along the line the judges persuade her to tone down her attire. I also like Naima Adedapo. I pay more attention to female singers. LOL

I love love love Casey Abrams his style and musical ability are amazing but they were saying he had to be rushed to the hospital and may not be in the competition, they also said if he is out they may bring back Chris Medina, since JLo broke down so badly when letting him go.

I don't know most of their names yet, but I can't imagine being a judge this season. Love them BTW.

It is SO much better this year. The talent is unreal. It really feels like a singing competition again. I dont see one "Vote for the worst" candidate. I was worried about the crazy girl that got married. Something off with that one.

I like most of them. Hard to pick a favorite right now.

Scotty McCreery is hands down my favorite. I love his voice and he's funny. He sort of reminds me of Clay Aiken.

I think the boy who has the deep voice and sings country is about the only person whose album I would buy in a heartbeat right now. I suck at names.... can ya tell? I could scroll up I suppose. LOL

I agree about this being the best season of AI so far. For two reasons:

1) The judges seem to like each other and their jobs. They're not mean to the contestants and are showing an ADULT way of letting people know they are not doing a good job.

2) The contestants this year are just all so good! I don't know how you all are going to vote when they're all so good.

I never liked Randy in all the years he was on the show, but he's different this year. I think having Jennifer and Steve beside him softened him. She's so, not like I always pictured her. I really like her! A lot more than Paula who I always felt was a little phoney. And Steve is hilarious and I love how he interacts with the contestants by humming and singing with them. He feels what they feel and it's great.

I agree 100%! I didn't know how I'd feel about Jennifer, but she's great. And definitely beautiful. Steven not so beautiful, LOL, but equally great.

This i going to be a tough season. Lots of good singers. I love the new judges. To me they just seem so real and sincere.

I was watching the show last night but missed the last ten minutes. I put the tv on mute and went to go in another room but a horrendous leg cramp had me on the floor in a LOT of pain. My poor OKE knew something was wrong and came over and licked my hand.

Hubby and I are both fans of the show and we like all of the finalists, but I don't think I can pick a favorite yet. I do have a soft spot for Scotty.

Casey Abrams, James Durbin, Robbie Rosen, Julie Zorilla and Thia Megia are hubby's top choices so far.

The judging team functions well. I like Jennifer and Steve's personalities, and Randy does seem comfortable working with them.

I also really like the judges this year. I am seriously impressed by Steven's singing at the drop of a hat.

Not sure about all of them yet. I like Casey James, but not sure if he "fits" the mold of AI? Loved his song with the Bass. Think he is probably better then a pop star. Julie Zorilla is also a favorite-she's so cute.

My DH also likes Tim Halpern.

Seems like the talent is pretty spot on this year.

I have to agree with you all. I love the judges....Steven is so warm and genuine and Jennifer Lopez is so sweet and beautiful. My only observation was that crying breakdown...was that for real?? or just acting...lets face it these realty shows are sometimes scripted to make it more interesting. She didn't cry for any of the others who she loved...Just an observation. Believe me, I hope I am wrong...let us wait and see....

I think Jennifer reacted as badly as she did because the contestant that she told would be going home, is the fiance of the woman who was seriously injured in a car accident. He wanted he music career to take off so he could take better care of her. How do you tell someone with a heart like his that his dream isn't going to happen? I don't know that I could do it at all. I beleive her tears were for real.

I agree with what Debby said. One other thought: Real crying isn't pretty. I don't imagine too many beautiful stars would let themselves look like that unless they couldn't help it.

As for the young fellow who was helping his girlfriend...I felt for him but, there were many others who hardship stories too. I thought this was a singing contestant not This is your life.

Hey, this is American Idol we're talking about. A TV show. No one's in danger of confusing it with a serious issue.

Plus, if you check other forums they have the same opinion as I do and there are others who disagree.....so no big deal...as you said "it is only a TV show"......
