Willow is 17. Guess her old bones are like mine,,,need some extra warmth in this frigid weather!! Wish I could fit on there!!!

I plant to cover them with burlap--that way I can do my winter protection after the soil has frozen. They are already in the ground--planted as soon as the frost danger has passed, to maximize their first growing season outdoors. Very little dieback on the HTs in the area where I planted Lady Hillingdon in the past 2 years--so I'm not too surprised that Saint Patrick did so well on its first winter in our garden,even though most of them don't last the winter around here.

I know some gardeners plant the plumies, pot and all, in the ground. Then when the cold weather starts, they are easier to remove and put in the garage for the winter.

find the edge of the root mat or mass ... sharpen your shovel.. and whack some roots off.. blast them with the hose.. and you will probably find a couple hundred plants.. rootlets .... and go from there .. i just don know why you would try rooting the branch ... or frankly.. why you want more mint.. but all the power to ya.. took me 3 years to eradicate it out of my garden ... but again.. all the power to ya.. have fun ... ken

She knows where it's nice and warm. The cat I got from my DD likes to get on top of the cupboard over the refrig. There's about 18" between it and the ceiling. Heat rises, so she goes up there where it's toasty.
Cute picture. I'll have to try and get on of Coco next time.
