I'm so sorry to read this, Poohbear, and hope you are feeling a bit better after reading all the responses--you are well-loved! I'll echo some others in saying one can go for some years with your condition; a relative of ours did that. I will keep you in my prayers as well. (I hope they let you eat chocolate again. :) )

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hoping for that miracle. Years ago you made a special computer program for me and I remember you every time I use it. A gift wrap program. You have made many people happy with your talent. A friend of mine who was dying of cancer once told me "life is worth living as long as you do something special for someone every day." You certainly do that. Wishing you peace and happiness.

You may be aware of this info already, but just in case you are not, there are several medical studies on Coenzyme Q10 and it is apparently quite helpful for those with heart failure. I think you know this and it never hurts to talk to your friends when you feel the need to. I'm wishing for a miracle as well as sending a prayer your way, giving you the strength to keep taking care of yourself. Doctors have good ideas but you might just defy the odds anyway. I hope you have many, many more good days ahead.

I believe in miracles because I've seen them happen. But they only happen when the person believes in miracles. Have hope! Doctors are wrong soooooo many times!

Pooh, I am so sorry to hear this. I "met" you when I got my first pc and found GW, many years ago. I have kept several gifs on Photobucket that are just for your birthdays. I worked in a long-term care facility for a long time. I had a good buddy, a resident, who was hospice for two years. She had a great attitude, although her mind function began to go a bit toward the end.

Here's the thing. Tell your story. So many people are afraid of hospice. They think that one is absolutely about ready to die. Not so. Contact you local newspaper, tell your story, go out with a bang! Let the neighborhood know that you have done what is the right thing to do.

Hang loose, what do you have to lose? Have one sip of some good whiskey in the name of peace.

Dear Pooh,

It has been a long time since I have posted on Garden Web; but, when I learned your news, I just had to be in touch. Hearing your name only brought back fond feelings. You were always one of the "good guys" who always was there to help anyone in need of computer help. You always kept the best lists of computer programs, help lists and tips, etc. You were patient with beginners and you tried to make all of our days brighter with your games, jokes and just plain ol' fashioned southern humor. To the last day that Jay Leno retired, whenever I would see his "Jay Walk", I would still think of you as I remembered how you loved watching that part of the show and having some laughs with you talking about the crazy people who participated. It is still hard to believe; but, Jay Leno still swears that the people were for real and not actors. We all enjoyed reading about Cindy and the kids....which, I guess by now aren't kids anymore. I am really sorry that you are once again being dealt a bad hand. Please know that after all these years you are not forgotten and still beloved by the people on THS....sorry, to me it will always be Spike and THS! lol! To say you are in "all of our thoughts and prayers" is a given.... and I do still believe in miracles. We have been down this path with you a long time ago and you did come through. I have requested a candle be lit for you in the Shrine of St. Anthony for a return of good health. It will stay lit for you for five days. St. Anthony is a good listener ;)

Pooh Bear, my thoughts and prayers are with you, Cindy, and the rest of your family and friends. I'm sad that you are in a situation where you need it, but glad that you have hospice care. I work in administration for the same hospice that cared for my mother 15 years ago. Hospice was a real blessing to my family and to so many others I know.

Just look at all the love .May God keep you in his loving arms.
