The sink is an old double bowl farmhouse sink. The faucets will be wall mounted on the 8" backsplash. The counter space on either side are the same height. The 1st and 3rd window are full sized and the middle window is shorter on the bottom to allow for the 8" backsplash. Initially, my designer wanted to leave that as wall but I really want as much light as possible and can't see standing at the sink and seeing only wall or cabinet so I pushed for the shorter window. On the outside I will build a flowerbox to mask the different length of window. It will look something like the link below (same sink, same faucet, maple counter), only less expensive ;) I can't comment on the structural questions. It isn't my forte. But, the three windows are replacing an old picture window that leaks like a sieve so there will actually be more support in the new frames than is currently there now. Angie, thanks for the comment on bulbs. I will get a selection of different kinds to try them out. To confirm, as long as I stay below the full wattage (40W) I will be safe. The output will vary by type of bulb. Do I have that right? Worth X-posting to lighting forum. Initial reaction--you're asking a lot of track pendants. We used to have a fluorescent box like yours. Hideously ugly, but it put out a ton of ambient light. Pendants are best suited for task downlighting--i.e. over an island. They do not typically put out much uplight, and often use relatively small bulb wattages. Unless you use a ton of big pendants, you'll end up with very spotty and uneven diffuse ambient lighting. Other thoughts would be to couple pendants with some source of ambient lighting: either wall sconces, if practical, or some type of larger ceiling mounted fixture. There are, it is true, big pendants that provide uplighting, like the ones we used: but even with these, we added a ton of recessed cans to ensure adequate light.

What's the wattage of the mosaic mini pendant? I would think using the light that mimics your vent hood would probably look okay if the sink isn't too close to the peninsula, assuming the wattage is high enough of course. The only concern I would have is a pendant over me instead of over the sink area; might not give appropriate light. Is the vent working? If not, could you take it out? Or maybe doing two smaller recessed lights on either side of that vent (depending how big it is across your sink area) would work better; then you would have the light properly over the sink? Hope those thoughts are of some help...

None of those will provide good light. You’ll look sickly and won’t be able to apply makeup. You need to reassess this design. It isn’t good. It’s truly terrible in fact. Cramming in two pedestal sinks with no storage and putting a giant dead body in between to block lighting is not a good plan. And neither are vanities in front of windows. It’s a dysfunctional to the max plan. You need a single sink vanity, in the center, with storage below. And 2 face height sconces on that wall. Plus additional general room lighting, and task lighting above the toilet, tub, and shower. All have to be damp rated to be used in a bathroom. Not kitchen lights.
