Light depends on code, or what fan will allow. I have noticed that the light's for ceileng fans have been lowered so older fans with lights support more wattage. Im not sure the reason, but its something across all US states. I got one of the Emerson fans for great room in a rental unit I have and it is fantastic. I got lights that pointed down, for max lighting. Loved it so much, that I went and got the same fan, for my sunroom. I did not add the light fixture to the fan for sunroom, plenty of light. The fan's I got are for larger rooms,you might want a smaller base motor for the bedroom. I would suggest you look at local lighting store. FYI my fans hardwire in for power, but also have a wireless remote feature all controls on remote unit installed in wall switch and hand held remote optional. Note these fans are custom, you pick all the features, finish color, blades, light fixtures, wall control panels etc. I picked Emerson due to ratings on fan motor reliablity it is the main reason to buy a fan so motor working quiet and efficient was my primary focus, looks were last. UCL is best for task lighting. In addition, it can effectively replace the main lighting under certain circumstances - early morning, late at night. If you want a soft light, the light output color should be 2700k. UCL Installation would be greatly helped if your kitchen cabinets have flat undersides without any interrupting fences. The rough rule of thumb I used for my kitchen was ~35 lumens per sq ft. Total area * 35 gives you the total illumination required. Divide the total by the output of each can (assume 600 or 500+ lumens per can) if all the lighting is envisaged to come from the recessed cans. A normal 60W incandescent bulb outputs ~ 800 lumens, but when put inside a can, the effective output is significantly reduced. If you use a LED recessed can light such as the LR6 or CR6, the lighting will be superior to a standard recessed can light (incandescent or CFL). Recessed cans are typically spaced ~ 4' apart. However, if necessary, the spacing could be reduced to 3' for areas such as the kitchen. The recessed can in the keeping room could be replaced with some surface mount / chandelier/ pendant.

i lost my senior great dane girl 5 weeks ago to bone cancer. it was sudden and shocking and i still look for her. my remaining dane girl and eden were joined at the hip, pip took the loss very hard and had been grieving so much, it broke my heart. i contacted pip's breeder and one of her former co-owners and asked that they keep an eye out for any adults that any breeder friends might be considering a new home for (retired show dogs, etc.). the co-owner gave me the contact information for one of her people who had a dane boy she had been looking for just the right home for and the rest is history. meet "flighty foto my way", call name "frank". frank will be 4 years old on 5/31. he is a very sweet boy and he and pippin hit it off immediately at our meet 'n' greet friday. they do zoomies numerous times a day, sleep curled up together and are just a perfect pair. pippin is so much happier and that makes me happier. even though i miss eden terribly, i am beginning to heal now that pip is feeling better. frank is a bit on the thin side because he lived the last 4 weeks with a female dane who was going through a heat cycle and when that's going on, intact males ignore food, do a lot of pacing and fretting and routinely lose weight. he's eating like a horse so i'm confident he will gain and be back to his normal weight soon. i'm giving him a few weeks to settle in and then i'll make an appointment to have him neutered.
