I don't have the cinnamon mixer. However I did Google "kitchenaid stand mixer yellow" and found a number of listings. There is a choice of Buttercup yellow and Majestic yellow. The link I have attached is to the Majestic yellow.

I don't think you have to settle for a color you don't necessarily want.

Teresa, I should have mentioned in my post that I'm looking at the model Dcarch linked to. The Artisan series won't take my present assortment of attachments. But thanks for looking for me. The Artisan series does offer a wider range of colors.

Dcarch, that helps a lot, thanks. The Amazon picture I saw is the one I thought looked brown, but your link looks somewhere between the two images I described above. I like it.

I looked on eBay and there are a number that are the color you want but the color in the pictures vary greatly. It is hard to get a true idea of what the color would look like until you see it in person. Is there anywhere you can go and look at it?

I love all the new colors that the KitchenAid mixers come in today. I wouldn't mind Raspberry or Blue Steel or Antique Copper. I bought mine almost 35 years ago and you only had a couple of colors to choose from. I got Harvest Gold which really dates it but still works great.

I remember when Harvest Gold came out. We loved it! No reason why we shouldn't still love it, but it's funny how trends and tastes change. I love many of the KitchenAid colors too. BUT after reading lots of reviews online and comments from my friends, I think it might be less than smart to give up my 1980s workhorse K5-A (made when KA was still a Hobart company), even if I can't use the attachments. (The attachment hub on my mixer no longer functions.) Perhaps I'll ask my daughter (who has one of the new 6-qt. models) if she'd like to use them.

'Mother', we can NEVER agree on what colors go with
other colors. Another example is when I get dressed
up to go to a 'function', she says: "YOU'RE NOT WEARING THAT SHIRT WITH THAT TIE". Lord help me.

If you have a Williams of Sonoma near you, they use to stock quite a few of the colors. That is where we went when trying to choose.

(KitchenAid seems to have lost interested in retail stores for their countertop appliances. Their "Where to shop" now takes one directly to their online store. They use to have a tool that helped with finding stores near you carrying them which is how we knew where to go look.) :(

I also have a 30-year old KA with the treasured "Hobart" label. It's a boring cream. I will NEVER give this up! The only attachments I have are the meat grinder, pasta roller and ice cream maker. The ice cream attachment doesn't attach very well, but I can live with that. I hear so many complaints about current models failing or not performing well, while my vintage boring K5A motors onward. I'm fairly sure it will outlive me.

On those older KA's, does the Hobart label show, or is it hidden somewhere? Just wondering, since DH goes to lots of estate sales, and one of those older KA's would be a great find if he knows what to look for.

As for colors, remember avocado green? It seems to be back. I was looking at the KA's at Macys, and they had a green one that looked just like the old avocado green. I don't know what they call the color now. I didn't take the time to look at it that closely. Who knows, maybe the old "boring" colors will make a comeback.

Sally, on mine the Hobart label is on the left side as you face the front of the mixer.

I remember avocado, but I don't think I owned anything major in that color. I had a harvest gold fridge and dishwasher, though.

Sally, my KA Hobart is 33 years old and the Hobart information is on the top of the base, on the plate that the bowl attaches to. Like Cheryl, mine is cream coloured. In 33 years it has never had to be served. (touching wood as I say this).

Sally, as Alisande and Ann have already said, the label is clearly visible. On mine it is on the side of the top near where the bowl attaches.

Ann - service? What is service?

My meat grinder came from MIL who gave her KA to someone, DH can't remember who. Her KA was bought around 1946 or so. I wonder if it's still going.

Sorry Cheryl. Yes I meant it has never had to be serviced - repaired. Has worked like a charm for over 33 years.

My Hobart KA survived around 33 years so they are great but not eternal.

The first non-Hobart KA's were the worst reliability apparently - they changed too many parts to plastic. The newer ones are better. However ours had a failure after 6 years of use where the planetary hub dropped down. Not a plastic issue but metal pieces with a friction fit. We were able to find instructions on line for a fix that bolts it on and it's running again.

I do like the slow start on the new ones - much less splashing, but I wish Hobart still made them.

Ann - I should have put a smiley in after my smart*ss comment! I meant that the older KA's don't need service, at least mine doesn't(touch wood too).

My mother also had a KA which my dad bought about the time one of my older brothers was born. I think his wife still has it.

I just purchased the gloss cinnamon and it came yesterday. It is gorgeous. It is a darker red color, not brown at all, I guess like a darker cherry red, I LOVE it and find it more attractive than the bring red. A great choice!
