I painted my house a pale yellow (Cream Yellow) and tested quite a few pale yellows. I didn't test those two, but you might want to look at Windham Cream, Weston Flax, or Jicama (a creamy yellow Affinity color I have in my den, very pretty). I also find it helpful to paint large posterboard samples (I think all of those colors come in those 2-oz sample containers at a BM store) and look at it in your room in the changing light at different times of day.

What other colors do you plan for the room?--rug, drapes, art? Choose something and pick up accent colors from it. I could see coral, purple, various shades of blue. Look through Houzz and find pictures of rooms and color schemes that appeal to you. Good luck.

Eva. It is not going to cost you $20K to paint the trim in that house. If you think that, then maybe you live in Paris, France or something. I know people who live in 9,000sq ft houses and they certainly don't pay $20K to paint the trim in their homes. And I'm in a HCOLA area. Are you perhaps near San Francisco? I think you need to get more bids, or you need to watch some diy videos on how to paint trim in homes. You can think about it like this: if it takes a crew of 2 people working 7 hours a day about 1 week to paint the trim, then that's $20K divided by 2 people = $10,000 per worker. Divide that by 7 days, and it means they're charging you more than $1,400/day EACH. I just don't think your typical painter in California is making that kind of money. So where are you located where workers make that kind of income? Supplies for painting are not very costly. Yes, painting well takes skill, but I can do it (and do it well), simply by reading diy blogs and speaking to paint experts in Sherwin-Williams stores. It's not rocket science.

One thought....I would consider painting the ceiling also in soft chamois! in flat paint. I think that will contribute to the sense that it's all white (as opposed to stark white ceiling paint that makes the walls and trim look yellow).
