A new member posted on the Daily Trivia Quiz over the weekend!!

Deejaus is from Australia. Please tell us more about yourself Dee.....how many kids and pets, etc. And tell us more about Australia!!!

Welcome from central Indiana Deejaus. It is below zero this morning here with quite a bit of snow on the ground. Please tell us about yourself. I am married, four grown children, 3 girls and a boy. Two granddaughters and a great grand son. I also have Izzi my red Pomeranian, she is my buddy.

Yeah, that one winter in 2010 (I think... and I really should look that up) was so bad, people around here lost well-established mature trees and shrubs. I had about 20 or more Crotons that were almost 5 feet tall, with "trunks" as big around as my arms, and they're completely gone except for three. This tree took that bad hit. Our Magnolia never recovered either, and was as tall as my two-story house... had to be removed finally (last year to build the pool). This tree seems determined to continue growing, and I'm inclined to let it. It's not taking up much room, not stopping me from planning and planting the rest of the yard, and I really do love it. (I tend to love every single plant I own... they're ALL my 'favorite.') Once the rain stops in a few days, I'll start on propagation of cuttings, just in case. Well two people saying so makes it fact in my opinion. Thank you both for your help. I am so impressed with this community, within hour I was able to figure out what plant I have. I didn't recognize it in the link because of the way it was trimmed.That looks pretty neat, I may try it but am very nervous. Did you do this with your tree deejaus or did you let it just grow?

Thank you for identifying this beauty--deejuas, I think you solved the mystery. Mytime, I cannot recall where I bought this plant last summer--did a massive landscaping project in the front yard and it was one of several "new" plants I introduced to the garden--and I lost the id tag. I took pictures and showed them to several greenhouse owners, and only one even offered an idea--a wild geranium. I don't think so...cortusa mathioli is far more accurate. However, he did manage to sell me a wild geranium... Thank you again! Now that I have the correct name, hopefully I can locate more of these perennials. They are gorgeous in bloom!

We can't sign in and view your pictures with such a generic link - it is having us just sign in as ourselves and that doesn't get us to YOUR pictures. What a laugh to found that I guessed the right answer to the trivia on Friday. I obviously must have heard that on a trivia quiz somewhere. What a strange thing to remember. I do remember some rather odd things.

There is a little about me on my profile. My main hobbies are photography and gardening but I have many other interests too. We are both retired and enjoying time together.

We are in a heat wave while you guys are shivering. My green lawn is now brown and many plants are fried. They will recover though. Our main concern at the moment is the many bushfires, some quite close to us. It is very sombering.

Welcome, deejaus. It's always so much fun to have a new KT'er so I hope you will enjoy being here and hop right into posting. I'm patti43, aka Patti. I live in Ocala, Florida which is right in the middle of the state. We are more horses in our county than anyplace else in the US. I don't have room for horses, though.

I am retired and recently lost my husband. I have one grown daughter, a SIL and a grandson who is graduating at the end of this school year in May. I also have another daughter, SIL and 3 grandkids I inherited when I married. I love them all!!

Welcome Deejaus. I'm Kathy, from Pennsylvania. 53 years old, two grown kids, son, Nickolas and daughter, Amanda who are my greatest accomplishments. Married to high school sweetheart for 33 years this May. Lost our beloved dog Jack a year ago this past Jan. He was 16.

You will really like it here, everyone is great.

Hi Deejaus! I live on the coast of NC with my husband of almost 20 yrs. and two spoiled cats. I work full time in healthcare admin, which I love. In my spare time I enjoy crafts, decorating, and gardening.
