Thanks so much for organizing such a fabulous swap over on exchanges.

I have loved seeing what everyone received. Very thoughtful and creative items were exchanged and new friendships forged.

We're in Canada now for a few more days then back home :( and :) I absolutely LOVE British Columbia. I could move here tomorrow!

I finally have Internet service after 10 days. I didn't think I'd manage but I did LOL. Now I get to use it for just a few more hours then without again till I get home.

Our Alaskan cruise was so relaxing. Other then every port being chockful of jewelery stores vying for your money, I really enjoyed the experience. Next time though, we plan or renting an RV and seeing the interior.

And when I get home, I have my CSA delivery on Wednesday and it's back to healthy fast and fresh veggies again after all the cruise food.

Glad the biscotti was enjoyed by many! Here's the recipe if anybody else is interested-it's pretty fast to whip up: Trail Mix Biscotti (base recipe) preheat oven to 350 1 cube soft unsalted butter 3/4 C. granulated sugar 2 med eggs beaten 2 tsp. real vanilla extract 1 rounded teaspoon grated lemon zest ( 1 lemon's worth or more) 2 1/2 C. all-purpose unbleached flour ( unsifted) 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 to 3/4 C. dried fruit and nut trail mix **chopped raw pistachios and dried cranberries can be substituted -any other chopped dried fruit and nuts can be used as well In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until real fluffy . Add prebeaten eggs , vanilla, and lemon zest. Beat until very creamy looking again . In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt ( using a mesh strainer, sift all together a few times to evenly distribute baking powder). Add creamed mix to flour mixture and blend gently until flour is absorbed. Mix in fruit and nut mixture gently. Dough should be firm. Divide dough in half. Place on a greased and floured baking sheet and form into 2 logs about 1/2 inch high, 4 inches wide and 9 inches long, spacing them at least 2 inches apart. Bake 20- 25 minutes, or till golden brown. (check sooner they bake fast) Transfer from baking sheet to a rack. Let cool 5 minutes. Place logs on cutting board and, with a serrated knife, slice diagonally at a 45-degree angle into 1/2-inch thick slices. Lay slices flat(cut sides up) on the baking sheet and return to the oven for 10 minutes, turning over halfway through cooking, to dry slightly. Let cool on a rack. Store in a tightly covered container or freeze for longer storage. Makes about 1 1/2 dozen. depending on how you cut them) Enjoy! Some notes: The base recipe is open to alot of experiment. Different flavored extracts can be used as well as the fruit and nut combo Larger eggs result in a softer biscotti Parchement paper can be used instead of a greased and floured surface. Those airbake cookie sheets help prevent over browning on bottom

I just checked out the Official Job Description Manual listing for "Minions, Assorted & Various," and the Picking Blueberries portion is optional, Kate. So...I guess if it is going to cause dissention in the ranks, Marcia's Minions no longer have to pick blueberries. Seeeeeee...I'm a kind and generous SpiritGuide/ProcrastinationPriestess/Queenie! I can be MOST benevolent when I need to be. Therefore, no need to turn in your Minion Membership just yet. I rather enjoying having minioning going on whilst on road trips with you and Nicki. Makes me feel Queenly an' all! *waving regally, but kindly* Marcia (Who still has NOT planted a single thing...but who thinks having the excuse of not feeling well yesterday will get her off the hook. The Knoxville swap was a blast!! My neighbor Jan came up with me , it was her first swap and she is hooked!! She said my "plant swapin friends" were the nicest people she had ever met. I think she'll be back, lol. Cheryl -- thank you for hosting us again and on such short notice too !!! Ohh and for digging in your garden for me-- I just love the lime green spiderwort with the electric blue flowers!! Your gardens are very beautiful, it was a pleasure just to be in them. Thank you. Canna, whoops- we never made it to your compost pile did we?? wink,wink ;) Ione, I'm bringing more hosta to the MTPS and between now and then I'm going to look for more of the orange marmalade hosta. I just noticed that the last package did arrive - from Germany - but it's still not over yet because Ann will be giving a prize to one of the participants. I know you are not eligible, but I have to tell you that I am very much enjoying what you sent me! I still have some photos to take a post, as I did put that quote in my kitchen window. It seems to help scare away the fruit flies.

I'm saving the balsamic vinegar for when our apples get ripe - that is my favorite way to use it, and we should have quite a few apples this year.

Thanks again, Ann, for your organizational skills - something that does not come quite that easily to me.

Ann, This was such a fun swap! I really do appreciate all that you do to keep our community connected here on the CF. It means a whole lot too so many of the particpants. I decorated my 4 top dining table today and used the handpainted napkins that you sent me. Maggie just looked at me and said "I think we shouldn't use those napkins...they are just to pretty to mess up!" Thank you for a wonderful package and a fun fun swap!
