I have one of each. I really love the low profile of the flat screen and how light it is. I'll definitely get another one to replace "the box" when it dies.

Mostly flat - Gary and I combined two households when we married so we have an overabundance of tvs. We have 4 flat screens LCDs and two box types.

We don't use them all :-)

I love the clarity of the flat screens and how light weight they are. Plus they don't take up so much room.

We have a box. It's 8 or 9 years old. With the price of new ones I can't justify buying just for the sake of having the latest and greatest. We were at friends who had one mounted on the wall. I went home with a huge pain in my neck.

I treated myself to a 42" flat screen last year. I figure at my age I spend 6 out of 7 nights in front of the tv and might as well make the most of the experience.

Two box ones. I refuse to upgrade when they are still holding up. They're both 12 yrs old so don't know when I'll be in the market for new.

2 TVs, both flat LCD. One I carried out of the store in a box with one hand, love that! It's in the kitchen and the prices have come down so much, it was a better deal to get it in a larger size than the one it replaced after a storm took the old one out.

I'm almost ashamed to admith this........

We have 6 boxes (bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, my office, hubby's office) and a big screen in the familyroom. I have a flatscreen high-def in the agency and love it. When these begin to die we will replace them with flats.

Just got a new flat screen a couple of months ago.

We have 1 plasma, 1 theatre screen with a projector, and 2 boxes. We NEVER watch the box TV's. One is in an extra room that we don't use because it's freezing in the room, and the other is in the workout room...which we aren't really using, either!

4 box(one is in the garage unused at the moment), the only flat is my new monitor, I bought a few weeks ago..

One of each. The main TV is a flat sceen and DS's TV in his room is the old big box type. I like flat screens because they don't take up as much room front to back and fit better in tight spaces.

We have a flat screen HD TV in our family roomn. We call it the TV room. We have old-fashioned tube TVs in each of the three bedrooms. The only place I don't have a TV at all is the kitchen. I occasionally will watch TV on my computer.

4 box kind counting in the 5th wheel and 1 sm. flat screen that belongs in the 5th wheel but lives with Sydney....EVERYTIME Brian and I go shopping we have to stop and look at t.v's he wants a big flat screen in the living room but is to tight to give it up since it still works...sometimes it screws up and you can see the wheels churnning in his head...LOL I will be glad when it does die because I get sick of looking at them....Stacy

old fashioned rabbit ears! Great reception on this hill...my son shared his coupon for boxes since one TV is in the spare bedroom for when he visits! My TV tech said if he had the same great reception we do, "He'd cancel his cable too!"

One of each. Both our tvs are really "old." We didn't realize how bad a picture we were getting until the new one came. We decided we would get one and it would be our Christmas gift to each other. I hated to spend a $1,000 plus on a Tv but I guess this is the price you have to pay. We are really enjoying it..

One box. I don't like tv in the bedroom and we rarely watch it anyways, so I probably won't have a flat screen for years. There are alot of other things I would want to buy first.

Wow, guess I'm the only one here who doesn't own a TV - I read instead. If I want to know what's going on in the world I check the news from my laptop.

We have 3 Box that are all about the same age. So when they go we will go to flat screen.

We have two box. One we bought the year we married, 17 years ago. The other is about 12 years old. Both are holding up well enough for me. The biggest one fits in our entertainment center, which I like very much as far as furniture goes, it's 5 pieces total. It has doors on it to hide the TV. Personally, I'm not the least bit interested in getting a new TV b/c I've yet to see a flat screen that will fit in that spot. I want it in that spot! LOL. I want to close the door, I do NOT want it hanging on the wall or the focal point of the room.

I am absolutely not a decorator... I just hate TVs as part of the room decor. A quirk, I guess, that DH does not share. One of these days, when the TV finally goes, it's going to take counselling to replace it. ;o)

Good for you, Sephia! I hardly ever watch TV, but my family does. I am very surprised that my DH hasn't bought a flat screen yet. We own 3 boxes. He did buy a couple of converters the other day.

The TV we watch most at home is a 32" Sony Bravia HDTV box. It's nine. It's built low into a bookcase in the Library'. The 13" Sony box in the breakfast area is about 15 years -- spent $100 for one repair ten years ago. Each has cable feed. Larger set has HDTV-R cable and recording gizmo.

Small screens usually look sharp in any variety. When the little Sony dies we'll replace with a small flat screen. No point in replacing the large set. It's where we want it and picture and surround sound work fine for us.

Flat screens are really lightweight. We had to pay a beefy guy to carry an old Panasonic 19" box away when we bought a 19" Toshiba flat screen combo HDTV-DVR for the bedroom at the condo -- $280 last week at Costco. LR screen in the condo is a 26" Sony box in an armoire. Both have cable feed.

Who still has and uses a VCR?

VCR? We have one, but it's not in use, it's just in a closet collecting dust. We also have a lot of movies on VHS, mostly Disney stuff from when DS#1 was a toddler. I have no idea how to put them to good use.
