Heating Wood Floors in Kitchen

Okay... so I'm totally sold on heating a "tile" kitchen floor, but my wife is now contemplating a wooden floor. I understand I can only heat "engineered" wood floors and that leaves our selection limited. Also, when we talked to a flooring rep, he took be back by saying "why would you heat a wooden floor... it's naturally warm and won't conduct much heat... it's a waste of money."

I understand the differecne in heat conduction between tile and wood, but was hoping that someone with more experience could weigh in on experiences / thoughts about heating wood floors. Thanks you sooo much for any input!!
