I bought two fabric shower curtains so I would have material to make a matching window treatment. I was surprised how few co-ordinating sets there are and the choice of styles was very limited. I wonder why?

Sky, I thought it was just my poor shopping skills! I'd thought about getting 2 shower curtains and having my sister whip something up for me!

What look are you going for? I love this set but not the shower curtain they show, I like the single. The pictures don't do the set justice, I purchased it for my dad's bathroom. They used to sell a beaded curtain valance. It's similar to the shower beaded valance and can be used instead.

What color is your bathroom?

I almost always buy 2 shower curtains and then use the second to make a top treatment or fabric roman shade for the window. Here are some other uses for the leftover fabric:

tissue box
wastebasket
towel trim
chair cushion cover
lampshades

There's lots of fabric to work with using a 2nd shower curtain - you're only limited by your imagination!

We have a 70's style ranch house with a porcelain tile bathroom. It used to be a speckled pink but we had it glazed to white. The tile goes about 1/2 way up the walls. It also surrounds the tub to create a shower. Currently, I have hunter green and white striped wallpaper above the tile, but we're going to strip it and repaint. We'll have to keep the white tile and the floor is a neutral, off white vinyl. We also have a porcelain white and chrome faucet at the sink that we will be keeping. So we need colors that will work with white and chrome in a 70's style bathroom. It is our main bathroom, used by guests, and we use it a lot as well because it's closer to the family room area. With 2 boys, we don't want anything too frou-frou (sp.?). ; )

I used a bamboo shade that kinda blended in with the window trim. Because 1) I didn't know there were sets and 2) sewing is not in my vocabulary.

Country Curtains has a few. I'm fairly sure they have a solid and patterned (paisley, maybe). Definitely worth checking out.

Uuup. Like minds. Just was over there -- There seems to be some overlap between the CC shower curtains and their window offerings, so you may find something there! in a variety of window treatment styles.
