Very pretty bedding, bed and wall color!

This may be too weird for you, but my thought would be to do a faux silver leaf, then antique wash it to warm up the color a bit. Use the glass on top, or replace with a mirrored top. Change out the hardware to a fancier, scrolled handle to pick up on the detail at the top of the headboard.

Or, refinish the wood to the same as the wood on the bed, add a leather top with nailheads around it and again change out the hardware to something scrolled.

Hmmm, the table looks so small for what you have going, and the style seems Early American. I'd get a more substantial and exotic nightstand for your room.

I see you've already bought it though, so maybe a glass top would also give it more surface and dress it a bit?

I think a large curvy, French chest would look beautiful with your bed and linens.

You're probably right about the scale, but I like a project so I'll give it a try. If it looks bad, I'll put it in a kids' room.
How does this sound...I'd like to paint it the brown in the pillows and do a gold pattern on the top, sort of a VERY simple faberge (diamond grid) look. I am looking for inspiration on the web.
I would love a chest, but not in the budget for a new one quite yet. In the meantime, this will do and I'll keep scouring craigslist.

I did some doodles for you. They're kind of dorky but I'm going to post them anyway, maybe it will give you an idea of where to go with the base color. Tried to tie into room/bedding colors. I had to tweak the table a bit first, took off the Early American pull, and in my feeble attempts to leave shadows here and there on the wood to get a pseudo distressed look, it led to the dork factor ;D

May I please ask, where did you find that bedding? I have been searching high and low for over a year now (no kidding) trying to match suede paint in my MBR. Yours looks like it might be a good match! Thanks for any info ;)

As for the bedding, I had it all made. A friend of mine is very handy with a sewing machine and she made it for me. I can't remember the fabric, but it was from one of those mega fabric stores (went out of business in the next town, but I would remember the name if mentioned.)
It might have been a waverly. The windows in my room and the door have the striped fabric, and the main color on the bed is a chenille. The reverse side of the cover is the brown checkerboard. I am so glad you like it.

Whoa, no wonder that bedding is so scrumptuous! Very beautiful :) I guess you have to dry clean it though? I always wonder how that works out (multiple pets here :) and dry cleaning is soooo costly anymore.

I'd like to do the same, although I'll have to do washables.

I've found some of the fabrics. The chenille is Waverly Connemara "mist". The chocolate color is Waverly Sutton Square, "chocolate". Can't find the stripe. When I bought them the store was going out of business so everything was really inexpensive. About 60% off. I think everything was about $15/yard, tops.
And yes, I do dry clean.

me again. Didn't love the night stand, but it is being put to good use in my son's room. I found two more on CL today and will go see them tomorrow. What do you think? Are they a better match to the pictures I posted above?

The style is certainly right. I didn't see the original table/s, but these complement your bed nicely. I am a little worried that they are only 24" high. Your bed doesn't look overly tall, but I would try to find something 24" tall (another table or even a corrugated box) and see if it is okay, both functionally and proportionally. The price is certainly right.

I agree with all the other posters...that bedding is yummy. I particularly like that you didn't overdo the pillows. Those beauties make a luxurious impact without resorting to the dozen-plus pillow look, which is impractical IMO.
