Uba Tuba Girl Chooses Backsplash - Love it, now needs paint color
Comments (9)Wow! That looks great! You did good as they say down here in the Deep South. Your cabinets are beautiful and the granite and backsplash look great with them. My house is similar in that it is very open. A mixed blessing when it comes to paint. I had wallpaper up in the kitchen when we first moved in and thought it looked weird to have a wallpapered room hanging off the rest of the space. I repainted it several colors trying for the perfect one that would go with cabinets and the rest of the house. You can see everything in my house when you come in the front door, not sure if yours is that way. Eventually I went with a color that is very similar to the colors in the open areas of the house. After all my experimentation it looked the best. I have SW Plantation beige (an old Duron color) in the open spaces and then BM Danville Tan in the kitchen. Danville Tan is a good color to go with what you have but I am afraid that it is similar to your backsplash tile. Good luck!...See MoreColor Sink with Uba Tuba?
Comments (14)We have uba tuba, oak cabinets, and black appliances - with a SS sink. You can see pics below - I've routed you to the main album, but if you go to page 5 or so, you'll start to see the granite, sink, etc. Sorry I can't post directly in - Tripod doesn't allow that and I never have been able to take time to master some of the other photo sites that WILL. SS just needs to be cleaned and dried after each use - not easy in our household, so I gave up a long time ago. Comments (3)I love Uba Tuba granite with wood cabinets. The deep dark greenish black of the stone with the warmth of the wood truly work well together. The stone is a rich color with enough movement to be exciting but won't overpower the kitchen. Comments (20)Wow, everyone seems to be in consensus against yellow. Okay, I can see that now. I've had yellow in there for 9 years and I must admit I am sick of it. .., but it's HAPPY and I like happy. There is not a ton of natural light in the kitchen, but lots in the dining room (a south and a west window), which now opens to the kitchen. I have to remember that the paint and backsplash are a background and are probably better left unnoticed, and maybe let the granite and the glass hood be more of a focal point...but to intentionally paint something greige....ugh. But yes, it would definitely be a good choice for the walls... So, most of you think: offwhite tile with light sage walls, OR mushroom/squirrel tail color tile with cream walls. Any other thoughts for "happy"???...See More- 15 years ago
