I read about this paint. I thought it was an indoor paint but I guess there would be no reason they could not paint it on the outside of a building. It would not come in any colors of course. You would paint it down and THEN paint over it just like the magnetic paint put onto walls in children's playrooms.

I had thought this paint was invented to be used for painting the interiors of places to prohibit cell phone use, like in schools and theaters?

I the WiFi blocking aspect of this paint is a creative idea for the average homeowner, but once it is down you would have to make sure you do not ever need to use your cell phone in your house and most people would not find that convenient. It might also interfere with wireless security systems or baby monitors, among other things depending on the layout of the floor plan of your home. No more radio either.

I would be hesitant to apply something like this to my home. Who knows, in the future maybe all our communication will be wireless and then you would be stuck with no way to access it. In my city they have been pushing for the application of WIFI access for everybody throughout the city and paid for with our taxes. Having an aluminum coated home would leave one out of the access wouldn't it?

I don't think that you would want to paint it inside your house, because then you would block the WiFi between rooms.

You are only suppose to paint the inside of exterior walls of a building or the walls of a room where you want to block out cell phones like a conference room or a room where sensitive equipment might be vulnerable to interference like a hospital.

Since cell phone jammers are now illegal in most countries, this aluminum paint appears to be a cheaper solution than a Faraday Cage. One practical application is to use the paint in prisons where one of the problems is gangs smuggling cell phones in to communicate with each other.
