is my grout too dark?
Comments (41)aww y'all are too sweet. I definitely wanted the more vintage look than modern. my counter top is honed granite. since I have a whopping area I got some remnants. sink, counter top and install was $800 total. MVP Granite and Flooring is the place I got my sink and counter top. They were ok. I felt a bit snubbed and unwanted since I was such a small job. I went with all the GW suggestions to get honed and the 311 sealer. I must say no stains yet! and if there are any etches I dont see them. stainless covers. hmm didnt think about that. will have to look into that too....See MoreLight glass tile with darker grout-halo effect?
Comments (3)I think you're over thinking this. First, IMHO, anyone who puts white grout into a work space, (shower, kitchen, whatever) deserves the gray, dirty mess they fuss with for the rest of their lives. Second, a griege would be lovely, as long, I think, as it has the beige-huge with it. OTOH, you could mix dry grout powder to get something that matches very closely. Keeping in mind the shine of the tile vs. the flatness of the grout will never allow an exact match to the eye. Third, just please, please make certain you seal it. Fourth, I like your tiles....See MoreIs this grout too light for the tile in my kitchen remodel?
Comments (15)First pic is our mudroom installed in Oct 2017 in a four-season climate with doors coming in from the garage and outside so gets wet from snow and rain. It is a very pale gray grout, although it looks white against the tile, and amazingly has stayed clean. Second pic is from a home that we toured in FL with white grout on similar tile. If you like the look of the ungrouted tiles, that is what it will look like with a dark grout. If you don't wear shoes in the house, it will stay clean, but if everyone wears their outside shoes in the house, I would think twice about the light grout....See MoreHelp! Comments (4)Grout stain is available through most grout manufacturers. Contact them directly for information. Test on a mock up or under the stove, fridge, in closet. Do not seal as suggested in the link provided above. If color staining is a option you are considering. Applying sealer now could become a issue with staining....See Morewestchestermom
