This can't be good. Since I don't have cable, I won't get any details until the news on the network morning shows tomorrow.

Not that I travel that much, but this sounds like a short shuttle flight, right? How sad. :(

When you think your computer has crashed!

What a coincidence, Cameron. My wife was just telling me two minutes ago that a friend of ours, who runs her own very small business, had a hard drive die, and had no backups of anything at all. You have to feel sorry for people in that situation, yet wonder how they didn't get the word about backing up. As the geeks like to say, "It's not if your HD dies, it's when." Other possibilities that might work for backing up are external hard drives, online (I don't think any are free) backup sites, or even a second computer. I have a laptop on which I have backed up files from my desktop. Chances are they won't both die at the same time. ThinMan

Hi Jan, I have a feeling I read somewhere recently that Dischida are mostly self-pollinators, think it was Epiforums, but I can't find the thread right now... cool pods, and flowers, interesting to not see it so close up as usual.

How tragic, and I can certainly understand your sadness. I think you should make the marker and take it there. The words you chose are lovely. That's a very nice thing to do. And what if someone from the family does come? Can you imagine how meaningful it would be to them? I'm sorry.

Harpersville/Childersburg are not heavily populated like where I am and I'm less than 15 minutes from Harpersville Motel :o) They interview local man, today and said man knocked on his door, with wet pants saying he fell out of his canoe. Sounded very suspicious and offered no help to the pilot, except tell him where motel was. He check into motel under another name, and left shortly after checking in and went into the wooded area behind motel and hasn't been seen since. I figure SOMEONE was waiting for him. We'll see!

Watched it last night, from midnight to two am. I grew up a mile away, I know the exact spot. Terrible loss of life, very sad.

Our hearts are broken in Western NY. I live less than 10 miles form the crash site; my husband worked with one of the victims - there is not a complete list at this point. The plane hit & demolished a house - the husband (age 61) was killed, the wife, age 57 crawled out from the rubble & lived. She is going to have a terrible time trying to recover - please say prayers for her (her name is Karen Wielinski) her 4 daughters & all the victims.

Thank goodness more houses were not hit - the crash site is only one yard - houses are very close by.

Very sad.

They just announced on the news that the Co Pilot was from Western Wa. And details at the 6pm news cast.

They broke in on the tv lastnight moments after it happened..then I caught more interviews and footage on CBS Morning show.

So tragic, yet so amazing that there was not more loss or damage given the close proximity of the other homes.
