You might want to see the link below and check out redroze's subway; your kitchen is very much like her's. Here is my attempt at photoshopping using her tile. It's not perfect! If you fine some other white subway you like, I'll try it again. I think your kitchen will look very pretty.

Redrose has a very dark island and floor to contrast with the great expanse of white. It is hard to get the complete picture without seeing your other elements. As it looks now, the black DW stands out a lot. What other surfaces/paint colors do you have in mind?

Hi bbstx! Thanks Lyno for Photoshopping in my tile! That's the ungrouted photo by the way. Here's how it looks when it's grouted with white grout.

I think remodelfla's onto something. Your cabinet doors are raised panel while mine are inset. I think the pillowed/angular tile would look great with your cabinets. I'm thinking of something similar to Mindimoo's tiles. Lyno - any chance you can Photoshop it in?

Good point Nalcar. I think we need a photo of the OP's kitchen from far. Your granite has a more golden tone than mine, which has more grey, which is why I went with a backsplash with a grey undertone. The colour doesn't quite work with your granite. Also, the dimensions of my tile is 2x8...I feel like the standard 3x6 would work better with your kitchen. Not sure why...just a "feel" thing.

I can't find Mindimoo's kitchen. Here's one that Petra Granite posted that's similar:

I'll give it a shot with that picture with the green cabs, but a picture without so many lighting variations and items on the counter would be better. Sorry I got the ungrouted pic.

Lyno! Thanks for the picture. It may not be exactly what I'm going to do (my tile is more like petra's) but nevertheless, it gives me a good idea of what it will look like.

I have tried twice this morning to download a picture of the entire kitchen from photobucket. Each time I get a warning that my computer is infected with some virus and it wants me to download something (I don't download anything that comes up like that). Right now I'm scanning with my anti-virus software (which is updated and run daily). I think photobucket has a problem. So pix will have to wait. I have attempted to post this message twice. It is getting shorter each time. LOL

The island countertop is going to be cherry. The floor is beige-ish tile (hate it, but it is fairly new and DH loves it. I'll just cover it in oriental rugs like I've done since it was installed.). The black DW is going to go but it will be several years. The will be a large darkish wood (walnut?) antique sideboard also in the room.

bbstx - I didn't have any luck with the picture redroze/petra granite posted. I guess I'm not a very good photoshopper. If you find another picture I might be able to give it another shot. I looked through the FKB.

Sorry! I know you're not having a very good day! I saw your other post about photobucket. I was able to use it this morning, but now I can't upload anything. It won't even give me that option. I'll try to check back later.

I think it would like really nice, but I would DEFINITELY use a grout color that picks up the warmer tan tones in your granite. I do not think the white grout will do anything for it.

Hey Lyno - what about this one?? Sorry, I didn't mean to write that you should Photoshop the photo from Petra Granite because that photo would be WAY too hard to Photoshop in!!! Your Photoshop skills look really good to me! I meant to post one from Mindimoo but couldn't find a photo.

What about this one? It's a straight-on shot, and there is some light reflection but it may be better...

I agree with soshh, I think you should go with an off-white tile and a warmer grout colour.

Thanks, redroze. I have used the photo above, but the ability to upload to photobucket isn't working right now. This turned out a little pinkish, but I whitened it...now if I could just upload it to photobucket.

That is a beautiful kitchen, where did you find it? Are there any more details about it? It looks like cherry cabinets. I have to get my plan done and get some advice from this great forum!!!

Photobucket seems to be back to normal. Here's a version showing the tile from the picture redroze found above. This is better, I think....but it is going to look way better in real life!

Oh, wow! Thanks Lyno for the photoshopping and redroze for finding the right photo. That is what I'm going with.

As of about noon yesterday, I have a functioning sink and dishwasher. it is great. We are putting stuff away!
