Can't use Photobucket any longer :(

Maybe it's because I have Windows 98, but I can't communicate with Photobucket any longer to download pics or gifs.

The site (main page) will not open enough for me to use their 'old download' feature..guess I'm out of luck.

Anyone else going through this? I just hate I can't share pics of my family (human or otherwise).

oh Lan..thats just PB acting the box...it did that to me too,about a year ago...I frigged around in there until I got it right

Clean out your system...I too am running on Win 98 still...

I have heard that there is a tropical azalea, but have never seen it. Nor any rhododendrons. They are probably on the 'unusual' or 'rare' side here! I have no clue, though! Thanks for the info on resizing. I have just received this info on the test forum (thank goodness for people who will lend a hand) and am on my way to learn to use the sizing correctly. Really do appreciate the suggestions. I was scratching my head, not knowing how I was doing this. First no pics, then too much! :) Clare, just to make sure I understand, I should delete the photos from Photobucket and reload them after I have adjusted the edit size? Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. First time I'm using Photobucket, not that I was a pro by any means on Webshots!!! As evidence certainly indicates..........Sigh!

I've had good luck renting with two cats, even with landlords who normally don't take pets. One, I always volunteer to pay double the security deposit. Fortunately, my cats are not destructive and always hit the litter box, so I always get the whole deposit back. Two, I tend to rent from landlords that own a few units, not from large complexes. I arrange to see the apartment before I mention a word about the cats. I want the landlord to meet me and realize that I am a good potential tenant. Then I mention the cats. Most landlords have been willing to work with me. I also offer to produce vet certificates if I think it would help. Nflifer has a point about vacant units. My current apartment is hard to rent--its a large studio, about 1,000 sf. It's large enough to be a three bedroom apartment. But because its only one room, it is really only suitable for a single person or a couple that gets along really, really well. A unit this size in my area, with a university in town, would normally have three or four roommates to split the rent. So in order to rent the place, the landlord has to charge lower than market rate rent. It had been vacant four months when I rented it. So I get low rent and a great space and the landlord has a free mouse-removal service in my cats and everyone is happy. (He says that my first winter there was the first winter no one complained about mice.)

I have to say decluttering is not all its cracked up to be. I went through a big one recently. Now I must admit... it felt so liberating... but there was a catch to that liberation. See, I was in the process of getting rid of a lot of things when one day I got a flyer on my door stating that a charity would be coming by and if I would like to donate then all I have to do is leave my bag on the front lawn clearly marked and they would pick it up. WHAT? someone is coming to get my junk? YES!! I had a week. and silly them for thinking it would only be ONE bag. They asked for it they are going to get it!! I thought this was soooo wonderful so I got busy. On the day of pick up I spread a large tarp in my yard and filled it with bags and bags of everything under the sun; from clothes to DVD's and VCR tapes, to books to old pots, pans and knives to furniture to whatever. I went through every room and purged and then went through them and purged again. On the day of pick up they left a few things behind that they decided they did not want either and I just put a "free" sign on it and it was gone by the end of the day. OMG you can never imagine how great this felt. I danced through the house in my new spaces. The elation did not last long though because while I love the way it made my house look so much neater there was a huge problem. NOW I CAN'T FIND JACK IN HERE. Say what you want but when you live in a lot of clutter there is a method to the madness and you know where everything is. For example... I moved my uniform shirts into a pocketbook rack in my closet. I thought this will be neat to have everything right here in one place. Made sense at the time. Next week I could not find them because I forgot where their new place was. It took me over three weeks and after ordering new shirts to find them. Oh yeah and not to mention that when I can't find something I assume I gave it way by accident. Like my uniform shirts, a pair of new shoes I still had in stretchers, and other stuff. COme to find out later I had them, I just couldn't find them. I damn near got in my car and drove to the charity place 4 hours away to see if they would let me go through my bags to find all my missing stuff. LOL. Okay so now to what to do about the dishes. I gave away things I wanted to hold on to for dear life as well. What I wound up doing is calling my daughter and nieces and gave them the story about the responsibility of being keepers of certain things in the family and I told them how important it was to preserve this stuff and NEVER give away. My nieces took the holiday serving platters and a few other things they really needed in their kitchen. Years ago I gave my son a whole china cabinet and it was full of dishes. It made him feel important and he thought it was impressive to be in his 20s and have a china cabinet already full of good china. I doled it all out like that and being that they know I am the family "stuff" keeper they felt it an honor to keep it for the family. Welp I hope that helped just a little bit, if nothing else but to give you a smile.

Frankly, lamom, if I, in a new relationship with a man who is depressed and a child who has multi problems and knowing this from the basic get-go, I wold have right then rethought my situation, ended the relationship and hightailed it for the next fish in the sea. That's not what I took issue with. What I took issue with was when you implied by your original posting with your indication that a person with depression 'choses' and went on with the 'whoop' good parent bit. Depression is not a choice. It's not a luxury that one can choose or decide to not undergo. It does not make them a bad parent. What would perhaps turn them into a bad parent would be when they fail to realize/except the disorder and seek help. In this case the gentleman did. He acknowledged he had a problem and sought out help which in his case included medications and theraphy. So many people either don't know what is happening, fail to acknowledge and seek out or plain are too embarassed to seek out help. What I took issue with here was when you appeared, by your wording, to indicate depression was something one could chose to not have and that if you did have depression, well, whoop, were not a good parent. And with your next posting you indicate with implying a person should think about not having the luxury of chosing prior to having children. My jaw dropped. I was really wondering if you did indeed realize that depression can and does strike at anytime and sometimes it's long after one has already had children. I think my objections had nothing to do with OP's case, but rather the simplicity you seemed to be applying to depression and it's extreme complex tangle with all that can go with it. I was pointing out depression is not something one choses to have, the choice comes with how the affected person deals with it. It's not a choice to suddenly one day wakeup and 'check out' , but it is a choice to stay there and not deal with it. As far as the OP, as I stated in this posting, I would not have stayed in this relationship and became as involved as she has, that was never my point of any of my posting in this thread. I wish the OP well, she has a serious decision to make, she's hung in there much longer than I would have, and I hope she thinks long and hard for what is best for her, her life and her own needs.

Hey Ron, I keep my system cleaned out pretty well just to keep the computer running smooth as possible.

Lydia, thank you so much for that link..it was so easy to join. I think I'll like this site better than photobucket.

Here's my first upload..my 15 yr. old cat named Stash..isn't she pretty?

Thanks Linda..she is a cutie and soooo smart, too!

On the other post about how many pets we have, I told about her showing up at my house when she was just the size of my hand and near death. She was almost bled out by fleas and didn't have much hair either.

It was meant to be she was brave enough to make it to my door all those years ago...my little soulmate..that's her.

Lydia, thanks again and even though I didn't think it sounded very feminine, just had to call her "Stash" and chose that spelling rather than "Stache".

Oh she is pretty Granlan. My Maggie, who's crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, had long hair like that, and her feet had the little feathers on them too. She looks so sweet.

Nothing to do w. Photobucket, but I have a cat story of my own.
One year, my children and I found a stray. She was emaciated and the tips of her ears and tail were scorched.
I'm not by nature a 'pet' person. But we brought it home. My husband at the time was an avid hunter. I thought he might have the courage to put her down as quickly and painlessly as possible.
For whatever reason, he looked at her and said, "Let's give her the night."
Well, one night turned into 8 (?) years of kitty love.
Because of her appearance we named her Cinderella.
She blossomed. Put on weight and produced three litters.
You know, of course, whom she decided to attach herself to: moi'. (:
She knew I didn't like having her in the bedroom, but for the first three months after the break-up of my marriage she lay at my feet. That little warm body was a real comfort.

Granlan, I like Tinypic too. So easy and fast for forums.

Love your cat! So cute and such a cute name! I have three blue and white long haired cats similar to her. Had a blue long haired tom cat show up here. He was wild...I called him Cat Daddy, but he left. But I have Johnson, Big Gooney, and Flicker to remember him by.

I found the same problem with Tinypic. I read somewhere that Photobucket and Tinypic are co-owned.

Apparently Adobe recently released Adobe Flash Player Version 10. This program has built-in security features that have disabled the one click feature at Photobucket and Tinypic. PB and TP plan to upgrade their systems to support the new Adobe version.

In the meantime they are suggesting this fix:

Windows:
- Left click once over the code. Then, click your right mouse button and select Copy.
or
- Using the CTRL - C command on your keyboard to copy, then CTRL - V to paste

Mac:
Hold down the control key and click in the code field. Then, select copy

I haven't tried it yet. Hope it works.

(Sadly, with Windows 98, there are so many upgrades I can't use..don't meet most requirements for most downloads.)
