Counter height swivel wood stools

Hi all - I know my post should probably go under the Furniture forum, but they don't seem to be as busy (or as fun) as this one is.

I have been searching all over for all wood (no leather or fabric seats) swivel counter height stools....where the back and chair part is straight lines, not a curved back (hoping I'm making sense here). I found a bunch but they either don't swivel, are black (looking for wood colored), or something else is wrong about them.

Does anyone have any stools like this or have you seen any in your searches? I have been looking for the past week and haven't seen any.

I had some of those for a while, but with kids, the stools all ended up with "bite" marks where the stool hit the counter.

Hence, my new mantra of non-swiveling stools!

Thanks doonie....did they have arms that hit the counter? I wanted swivel b/c I thought it would be easier for the kids (5 and 7) to eat at the counter, and maybe watch TV (against the side wall)....
Do I not want swivel - what has others encountered with swivel stools?

Thanks for all the info. Sorry I wasn't clear mercymygft, 22" to the top of the frame. Wish I had your sales rep sas9! The salesperson I normally deal with was going on vacation and he told me I could place the order with anyone because they were not on commission. I didn't like the salesperson I was dealing with but did not want to be rude, so I placed the order with her. I probably would have gotten better info from my regular guy. I called the manufacturer and they told me I could have had the stools made anywhere from 24-30 inches. Sigh. They cannot be returned angela12345 because they were a custom order. On a positive note, I have been a regular customer of the furniture store for many years. They have taken the stools back and are looking to see if they can add some inches under the seat. If they can't maybe you can give me some pointers on eating at chest level:)

They are the Venetian - 24 inch stools. They are really comfortable and clean up nicely. I spent a long time agonizing over counter stools and I'm happy with them! They have a bar in the front and on the sides - it's a good position for a foot rest. They look great with the soapstone. Even though the soapstone is on the perimeter and the marble is at the island, I like it a lot. I didn't want to try to match the island. Good luck!

So I found these stools at Copenhagen and I really like them!! (and the price.) They are very comfy and lightweight. Issue- I'm doing brass accents. I do have SS appliances but faucet, pulls, lighting are all brass. I do like the idea of mixing metals. WDYT? (the legs are chrome.) Perimeter cabinets are white but island (where the stools will be) is gray. I'd love your thoughts. I'm a very insecure decorator!!

We have leather stools similar in style to these that are comfy. Ours have metal on one rung to prevent scuffs, but they were also more expensive. I'm leaning toward being very utilitarian, so these are attracting my attention: Suspended bar stools. No one can move them. I won't trip on them traveling across the kitchen with hot food or drinks in my hands. They are easy to sweep under. They have a safety that keeps them from banging into the counter. They won't tip over. What could be better? : )

we had swivel stools... and yes, the "bite marks" are prevalent with kids.

I haven't completely decided what I'll do this next time around. (swivels were at the old house, "new" house needs remodel before there will be island seating)

I have looked at the suspended seating ... and drooled a bit. I did go see them at a kitchen store awhile ago - wasn't as impressed at the store. the seat was a bit loose and wonky. But I haven't crossed it off my list yet - the store didn't seem very invested in the suspended seating, so perhaps it wasn't installed right... or wasn't maintained right... or... ???? I would LOVE to talk to actual people that have them in their homes to see what their after purchase, real life experience is.

Those suspended bar seats seem an awful lot like McDonalds to me. Not that I've been in one for, oh, 30 years? But I know I've been in *some* fast food place or other lately that had those sort of suspended seats. I found them incredibly uncomfortable. But I didn't much worry about it as it wasn't my home! If it were my home I would no way want that fixed setup. Sorry to be so blunt. Of course your feelings about it are all that counts. Maybe they're different if they're of this higher quality? But at that lower end of the quality scale that I'm sure was installed in whatever no-name fast food place we encountered at 2am last summer, it is one of the few things I've ever encountered that I have such a strong negative reaction to!

Our stools had backs that extended above the counter and the backs are what the kids would swivel the counter into. My kids were younger when that happened. I don't know that it would be as much of a concern for people without kids. But it would happen when they were trying to get up and down from the stools and not just "joy" swiveling. So it may be something to consider;)
