I have a new Samsung FL washer, Its great. It has the silver care setting to sanitize in cold water and it has VRT vibration reduction technology. I don't know what number it is. I think you would be happy with it. I got it a few weeks ago, they had a 15% off at lowes.

You could also consider Bosch or Whirlpool Duet. Whatever you choose make sure there is service for it in your area. This can be an issue when a repair comes up. Are parts readily available, or are they impossible to obtain in a reasonable time? Service won't do you much good if you have to wait 6+ weeks for a part to show up. These are questions to get answered first then start looking at the different available options. Hope this helps.

I bought my Samsung 328 washer and dryer from Sears June 2008. Since that time, I've only ever experienced excellent performance, very clean clothes and NO repair issues. I really like the multiple wash/rinse/temp options. In the year and few months of owning, I've also moved and experienced no issues as a result transport and re-installation. So far, Samsung has been a solid performer. In fact, for my new home I selected a Samsung SxS refrigerator which I also like very much. In the end, If I were in need of new laundry equipment the Samsung would be at the top of my list.

Choose the best, forget the rest. One word: MIELE.

Does anyone know when the Miele W4842 is coming out? It's already shown up in several documents on the Web if you google "Miele W4842". The current model is the W4840. I wonder what's new?

I agree with cybespacer. After 4 months of laundry nightmare with Samsung and Electrolux, we went back to Miele (we were Miele owners for 10 years prior to trying other brands). We also have the Miele DW, Oven, Speed Oven, Vent Hood and 2 Miele vacuums.

MIELE is the highest quality, Made in Germany applicance you can buy. In Germany, and all of Europe, there is NO better brand. Miele is the ONLY company that designs and makes washers and dryers to last 20-25 years!! Miele...Anything Else is a Compromise!

W4842 will be coming out in the next few months. There is VERY little difference from the 4840. A few new buttons, and might be offered in Chocolate brown, like in Canada (Yuck!!). I asked our Miele Factory Rep, and they said there is almost no difference!

If youâÂÂre considering the Samsung models also check out the Sears Kenmore Elite models which are built for them by Samsung. We got the 263 649 308 4.0 cu ft model (Canadian #) in the Blue Silver color. It is based on the Samsung 218/219 model with extra features (a diamond drum, 1300rpm withVRT, small items âÂÂcatch basketâ and a front drain hose). It also has side handles . . . really nice to help put in place when the fit is tight . . . these are very heavy machines (maybe all FL are????). It has a very good energy rating . . . in the top third of machines, I believe, and very simple to use.

I have been repairing this stuff for 27 years, and am in contact with lots of American Techs, and they will more than support jdenyer232 post. I am in Canada, and over here we also are to this post having lots of trouble getting parts, and at wholesale prices. So far, LG and Samsung stuff is getting parts, and at a resonable price. joann fla posted that her machine can handle 20 prs of jeans, and 33 bath towels, yes it will, but for HOW long. Don't be fooled, just fill it up and then let all that get wet, then try pulling it out, and see how heavy it is. The post on Miele, is good, but in my area Duets are the sellers, and I like that machine alot. brenton

I've only been using my Samsung 328 for about 4 months, but so far I'm satisfied.

I was at my local Lowes looking at the Samsungs. I tried to open the pin trap door on two machines and the small plastic tabs on both of them broke on my first attempt to open the door. While the specs look good, the product appears very cheaply made. I would not touch this with a 10 foot pole. Miele all the way.
