Bill, Thanks for the info. When I think about how strict Hawaii is on fruit etc., I can understand it. The reason they are is strict is because as an island, once something get onto the island, it stays. A borer outbreak would not be good. I will have her check to see if she can get it examined by the Dept. Of Ag. If that would help. Do you know why they have a problem with mongoose ( geese?) in Hawaii? They had consulted some " expert" to find a natural way to get rid of rats on the islands living in the palm trees. They were told that the mongoose is a natural enemy of rats. They brought in the mongoose and let them loose. Unfortunately, they discovered there is a tiny problem, one of the creatures sleep at night, the other during the day, so they rarely see each other! THAT is why you see. Mongoose running across the roads in Hawaii. Kind of a funny story really. Thanks Bill for the info.
