Uses for overripe bananas?

DH brought home a lot that someone at work was giving away. I tend to like my bananas on the green side. I'm not baking during the summer, otherwise these would go into banana bread.

I do not mind the overripe taste in a smoothie, but I've already had enough of those for now. I thought of mashing them and freezing in smoothie quantity, but I don't know if the freezing will affect the taste. That seems to work for banana bread, but what about something that is eaten raw?

Can they be used in any kind of a sauce?
