'Dog cheese'

In my house, being decidedly and deservedly cheese snobs, we call those individually wrapped slices of American cheese, "dog cheese". Good for doggie treats and for wrapping around a pill so the dog will swallow it.

My son't dog had twice a day pills for easily 8 or 9 years....all folded in "dog cheese" and gobbled down.

Chabby has been on antiseizure meds (not a large enough dose obviously due to the recent episode) and I fold the pill in a little piece of dog cheese and she has gobbled it up...until about a week ago.

Suddenly she won't touch the stuff!! The vehicle has to be "real cheese"...Maytag blue is very good as is well aged chedder or a slice of provolone....but the easiest is those skinny slices of Buddig ham. They are cheap, easy to fold around a pill and she likes it.

BUT...what am I now going to do with the dozen or so slices of "dog cheese" I have in the refrigerator?
