Very good! I look forward to this show. Not sure how long Harry can keep winning cases.. so far, 100%. So refreshing to see Kathy Bates looking good. I am checking out her wardrobe... loved the necklace she wore tonight. Can you tell I am older and fatter?

i lost my senior great dane girl 5 weeks ago to bone cancer. it was sudden and shocking and i still look for her. my remaining dane girl and eden were joined at the hip, pip took the loss very hard and had been grieving so much, it broke my heart. i contacted pip's breeder and one of her former co-owners and asked that they keep an eye out for any adults that any breeder friends might be considering a new home for (retired show dogs, etc.). the co-owner gave me the contact information for one of her people who had a dane boy she had been looking for just the right home for and the rest is history. meet "flighty foto my way", call name "frank". frank will be 4 years old on 5/31. he is a very sweet boy and he and pippin hit it off immediately at our meet 'n' greet friday. they do zoomies numerous times a day, sleep curled up together and are just a perfect pair. pippin is so much happier and that makes me happier. even though i miss eden terribly, i am beginning to heal now that pip is feeling better. frank is a bit on the thin side because he lived the last 4 weeks with a female dane who was going through a heat cycle and when that's going on, intact males ignore food, do a lot of pacing and fretting and routinely lose weight. he's eating like a horse so i'm confident he will gain and be back to his normal weight soon. i'm giving him a few weeks to settle in and then i'll make an appointment to have him neutered.

I don’t think it would, if you like a full look like this, and with the one window butting up to the wall — it could have a glam and luxe feel. I wouldn’t worry about the symmetry too much, and just go for the look you like. :) I’m going to generalize, but I find we Americans can be too rigid in decorating, too mathematical. I get most of my inspiration from European designs.

They started at 6pm on the dot! I had 100 pieces of candy, handed out one per child, and had run out by 7:10, with 50 minutes still to go! I had seriously underestimated what I would need, but it had been a few years (either at work, or Covid the past 2) and I had forgotten how much I used to buy. T&T is big in my neighborhood! I do have to say that I don't think I had ever seen so many parents with very young toddlers who could barely walk or talk sending them up to get candy... it was a bit surprising to me. ETA: we do think that we have several groups who come in from other parts of the metro area, because our neighborhood has the reputation of being fun and friendly, but they are no problem at all. Occasionally we have a issue with (usually a) parent who is inappropriate - grabbing handfuls of candy or even stealing a bowl.

I often tell DH that he should have been born during the Renaissance. He's very artistic and very talented in several areas - he paints, sings, cooks, gardens, does calligraphy and designs jewelry. Over the years he has given me many pieces of jewelry both new and vintage - some have large stones, others have intricate designs, some have rare, exotic stones. It helps that we have been close friends for over 40 years with a married couple who are jewelers because while DH designs beautiful pieces he still needs a professional to source the material and have it crafted - and while our jeweler is making a profit we're not paying retail. They have contacts all over and just returned from the Tuscon Gem Show which specializes in colored gemstones and minerals. You can find large colored stones with high brilliance yet are relatively affordable if you look for other semi-precious stones like tourmaline, garnet, zircon, spinel. And they come in many different and unusual colors. The mark-up on jewelry is astonishing and while I appreciate those gorgeous pieces that celebrities wear I can't in good conscience spend that kind of money. Our friends have mentioned that a some of their younger customers have asked about lab created diamonds but few have purchased them - perhaps they go elsewhere since the store will order for them but they don't stock them. They'll also show them semi-precious stones and vintage pieces and often that's what the engaged couple end up selecting. Especially those looking for a unique, custom piece. My favorite ring is a simple eternity band with emerald cut diamonds in a channel setting that I wear everywhere - even in the pool. It has the requisite sparkle but isn't ostentatious. I do limit how much jewelry I wear whether it's costume or real - too much can make it appear tacky. I like to keep it simple.

I do believe Perry Mason won all his cases, so I think Kathy (Harry)can too. LOL I like the show.

I like the show very much. Some funny scenes and lines. Kathy Bates is terrific.

have not watched it yet it is on the DVR. I knew I would like the show when I saw who was the main character! Love her work. Really enjoyed the pilot

I really enjoyed the show, and just for a small fact Perry Mason did lose one case. just one in all those shows, can't rember which one it was tho.

What a nice bunch of gals, and guys if there are any, this seems like a nice place to drop in. Every day I go to Decorating Forum and read it all. I think I will stop here too. I have way too much time on my hands since I am a widow, family all out of state and have back pain. I just purely enjoy reading all of the messages on "That Home Site!" I was a little disappointed in this week's Harry's Law. I thought the first week's show was better. But I am a fan at this point and will watch all season.

Hi Susan209 - Glad you discovered us! I also visit the Home Decorating Site every day, but also always pay a visit to the KT. It's a great forum - full of generous people who will jump in to help you when you've got a problem. I've had a couple of Serious Issues and the women here were phenomenal. Am not a widow, but DH is at work all day, our family is all out-of-state, and I've also go a wretched back - so when I need to sit down, it's almost always to visit the Garden Web. So - welcome!

Sorry to take this thread off-topic. About Harry's Law - love Kathy Bates - who doesn't! Am hoping that the show succeeds.

Hi Susan209 and welcome. Such nice words , but I agree with you....mostly really nice folks here.
But Harry's Law. What a nice show and "characters welcome" seems like that may be another successful theme. I love NCIS...not because of the blood and gore, but because it has "Heart" and every cast member is a memorable character. Sure hope it succeeds. Nanny
