Are you planning on painting it?

I was thinking I would paint it but don't know if I could paint over the leather? I'm thinking I need something a little taller and maybe oval or rectangle that I can paint.

You could always mask the leather then use shoe polish to change its color after you paint the rest.

Even if a good price, it sounds wrong for what you want. And $20 is a good price . . .but sometimes, it's just adding work.

I agree with those who say it doesn't work with your look (which is soooo charming!). I once saw a great coffee table made from the bottom of an antique potbelly stove with a beautiful piece of wood on the top. I see something interesting and unique like that in your home. Something that is beautiful in it's rustic charm.

Staples Cabinet Makers did the table I mentioned above and a number of other really interesting designs. I like the iron grate table they have now-- and the hay loft door too. I always check them out for inspiration (I'd buy from them too-- but it would need to be the right piece since they are a good day's travel away)

Yes, I think it is the price. I was thinking if it didn't work for the living room we could use it in the family room but it's not well suited for there either. And I don't know where it's located.
Funkyart I was wondering if something unique might look good or if I should go with something that just sort of blends in. I like the ones that are made out of old doors, windows or gates.

I've only seen your family room (I think that's the room) but Farmchic, I'd think something that "blends in" with your house style would be unique. You don't have to go to the lengths of a potbelly stove lol.. but I'd think a table built around an old door, window or gate would be perfect for your home. Your style has worked beautifully thus far-- stick with it!

There are too many quality pieces in great shape on CL to settle for the one you have posted.

I love the shape of the table top, but if you don't like the leather, who knows what is underneath?
