News says Taco Bell is counter suing.

I live six blocks from a Taco Bell. Have been here 16 years. I've eaten there once. I prefer real Mexican Food.

I have always loved their tacos. It was the first Mexican food I had when we moved west, and I thought it was wonderful. I still like their tacos 40 years later.

I have to admit that I love Taco Bell's "beef" tacos. I think anybody eating them would know that there are probably a lot of fillers added to the mixture. Their tacos cost like 80 cents--who would think there are NOT fillers? But I just can't duplicate the seasoning! (I actually stopped at the store tonite to buy taco shells, ground beef, seasoning and toppings but was just too tired to cook it!)

I think I've had real Mexican food just a handful of times. And truthfully, I don't like the stringy meat they use for their tacos. In enchiladas, sure.

The stringy meat is either pulled beef or pork. YUM!

I prefer the little Mexican resturant about 1.5 miles from my house. Their prices are reasonable and the food is the real deal.

The filling I put into my own HOMEMADE tacos isn't 100% beef either. It has spices, and whatever else is in the Taco Seasoning envelope which adds about a cup of "whatever" to the 1-2 lbs of ground beef. I don't think I'd want a taco with ONLY ground beef under the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream..

IMHO, if any fast food place should be sued for false advertising, it's Carl's Jr., for the way they advertise the "hand-breaded chicken tenders." I love chicken tenders, and the commercial with the two young women receptionists who ignore the phones (that constantly ring) while they enjoy the chicken tenders really tempted me... The tenders look nice and big... Well, hubs and I stopped at a local Carl's Jr. the other day and that's what I ordered. I ordered the 5-piece box. They were really puny. They were the smallest chicken tenders I've ever seen. I'd bet money that if you combined all 5 of the tenders that I received, they'd still be less than one of the chicken tenders in that commercial.

Dumb lawsuits like these just want me to support the business. It's fast food. I never saw an ad from them for an all beef product. they just say they use good beef in thier product. Like others have said taco "beef" is a lot of things even when making it at home.

That said I liked Taco Bell better when they used to fix their taco mixture on site. Now I believe it comes pre-made in a can.

We have a local chain called Taco Bravo which is more like the Taco Bell of old. They have a bad rap for ambiance and the sketchiness of the late night peeps but dang they make great faux Mex fast food.They even have a "secret" menu for their late night fans.

I know real Mexican as opposed to fake but every type has its market. I don't compare Mickey Ds to my favorite diner burger or even my favorite hole in the wall burger joint. They all have their place.

DD and I get this crazy craving once in a while for the mystery paste tacos at Jack In The Box. DS won't touch them. LOL

I think Jack does the best fast food chicken tenders. Not the cheapest but they are large and tasty.

I agree with Wildchild. What the heck is it today, our judicial system is so off kilter. And the congressman that is suing the cafeteria over an olive pit should be drummed out of the House. To me, this is what is wrong with our country.

My mom used to work at a school. A lot of the taco "meat" there has been fillers (soy?) for years. There was a fancy name for them - but they weren't all meat.

According to Taco Bell, their tacos have 88% beef plus other seasonings and oats. I love their beef tacos, by the way...and their 7 layer burritos. Yum.

If you want a really good burrito (fast food type) go to Taco Del Mar. OMG, so good! You pick the meat: ground beef, shredded beef or pork or chicken. They put them together in front of you. They're almost as good as the real thing.

LOL@ Wildchild, when I was a new (starving) EMT in San Jose we spent a LOT of time at the Taco Bravo on Bascom. That and the Taco Bell on W. San Carlos. They were cheep and stayed open late. TB's double wrapped, BIG burritos saved me many times. We had all the cheep food places mapped out, or the places that would give you discounts for being in uniform. Marie Calendars on Winchester, 7/11 on 10th (?), taco Bravo, Taco Bell on W.San Carlos, Ben & Jerry's downtown, Keystone coffee (gone now), the nurses station at Alexian Brothers,

I LOVE Taco Bell! It's a satisfying, cheap lunch. Grilled chicken burritos and mexi melts are my favorite. And OH did that place smell goooood when I was pregnant!

I like their tacos anyway..I don't care for any spicy foods
so they are fine for me.
In high school, way back in the 60's, the "hamburgers" had
bulgar as a filler, I think that was the name. I ate those
all the time.

I like taco bell but will not eat at the one near me. They use their bare hands to reach in the jars of food to put on your food. I called them on it, but nothing changed. Everything in the jar is contaminated by no telling what. I even reported them to the health dept and they called me to tell what happened. They were promised they would retrain their people and that did not happen. It has a bad reputation all over town.

I don't care if it's not 100% beef as long it is a good filler like oats. I would not like it if they advertised it to be pure beef. The place I am annoyed with is Logans. all of a sudden the steak burgers remind me of a crumbled sponge, looks bleached and no flavor at all. Their steaks are still very good.

If it keeps me from cooking, I like just about anything! I love Taco Bell. I especially like Taco Bueno's chicken taco soup--yummy.

GS and I ate at Taco Bell today. I had their double steak quesadilla and it was delicious!

Del Taco is not here, but I did eat quite a bit in CA, along with Jack in the Box, Weiner Snitzel (sp)--love thost chili dogs, here they have Taco John--not bad, but they stick potatoes in alot of the menu items. Miss the fast food Chinese (can't think of the name), never got sick and always HOT (not spicy). Of course for hamburgers cannot beat In & Out Burgers and FF.

Taco Bell ran a full page ad in the LA Times:

I don't know about any of you, but nothing there bothers me. I never eat at TB though.

The president said they stand behind the quality of their beef and are proud to serve it in all their restaurants.

I like Taco Bell when I am in a hurry or not wanting to make my own. They are inexpensive and good to me. I love them. When I go to a Mexican Restaurant I will order something like fajatas or combination platter. I have ordered tacos from an authentic Mexican restaurant (not tex-mex) and OMy, I thought I had died and went to heaven. They had a bar of topping like cucumber sauce, and advocado sauce, etc. etc. etc.
I think everyone is sooo sue happy. Leave the poor Bell alone for goodness sake!

I love their food, but I drive a couple of miles to use one that uses gloves. They use hot pink ones, they are really visible.

I think some Alabama law firm has trouble finding legitimate clients.

So do we now know where the Taco Bell dog went?
