can I add to juno track lighting?

The previous owner had Juno track lighting installed maybe 10 years ago in two dormered bedrooms. The rooms need more light; can I just add more lamps to the track? Is there a limit re what is safe? The lamps are the classic round back type JunoV603, which I do not find on their website but are being sold on e-bay. Would the newer (similar) lamps fit my old track? Advice appreciated, want to add light without demo and repainting.

The track itself is rated for as much as a standard lighting circuit can handle. Juno has not changed their basic track in the last 10 years so you should be able to put new fixtures on it. Track lighting is supposed to be designed assuming a certain number of watts per foot of track with circuits designed to handle that. To see if you are safe you must add up all of the watts of lighting on that circuit breaker and make sure you are using less than 80% of the breaker capacity.

Other companies like Capri have changed their track three times over the years and there isn't much one can do with the oldest except to look for fixtures on ebay.

You need a dimmer tat the lighting manufacturer says will work with their parts. Even when fully on a conventional dimmer distorts the voltage going through to the load. So called 'magnetic dimmers' use a different device, but depending on how the120 VAC is being turned into low voltage (and often low voltage DC) you need to ask the light manufacturer what is compatible. Some 'slid state' transformer designs (actually small power supplies) simply cannot be dimmed. In the mean time, remove the dimmer and hook up a regular on-off snap switch. The transformer or other electronics can overheat enough to catch on fore with the wrong dimmer.

We have a Juno track light and after 10 years I am ready to change out the ugly spot lights. I want pretty pendants. The lighting store where we purchased these has closed and there are no other stores in our area so I have been looking online. What I am wondering is, am I stuck with just Juno pendants or is there a different brand that would be interchangeable?

The color temperature isn't as important as the actual ratings of the bulb. The "alleged" wattage equivalent is pure marketing tripe. Somewhere in the fine print will be lumens.

The xenon strip light that I purchased from Pegasus is 4 small lights in a "bar." All of the other lights I bought were puck lights, and in retrospect I'm wondering if I would have been better off with 3 or 4 pucks -- strictly as a design choice and not a comment on quality. Dunno if that helps you too much.
