Hi everyone, it is 4:30 AM and I'm still up and crazy about CS. I just got it today.Came home after work at 11 and did 2 loads of laundry.First was small load of dark working clothes( pants, some T-shirts, socks ) 1/2 TBLS prewash, 1 TBLSP wash on hot, water plus, extra rinse.

All came out nice, smelling just like wet fabric and dried to smelling fresh almost like line dried.I used splash of vinegar in FS compartment. My BF just left to work and wore one of those T-shirts washed and told me it smells like new!. Second load I did whites (about 1/2 size load) on sanitary, again w/ prewash but reg. water level and extra rinse.( same amount of CS-1/2- prewash, 1-wash.I even added one really dingy white cleaning hand towel just to see the results. It is still drying so....

What I noticed after the first Charlie load, there was tiny bit of black residue like in the boot where water drains, so I took q-tips and poked around, it was black but not slimy. I didn't prewash my machine since I have no mildew or mold visible even if I push the rubber ring and look around. After the white load,the black thing was gone so whatever it was- some old little build up from somewhere, it is gone. I even opened up the bottom filter after both loads to drain the leftover water and no soapy feeling, no suds left. There was little suds while the first load was going ( I paused the wash several times to look inside), but I think because I used the full amount of CS for small load. However it did rinse completely out.

The dingy old towel came out pretty clean too and my white cotton bathrobe is missing the old yellow stain that wouldn't come out before!!! I am totally sold on Charlie forever! I can't imagine how much better our laundry can get. We have LG TROMM 2496,live in Florida and have hard water. I will try CS in DW too. The other day I used Woolite and baking soda in DW because I forgot the buy Cascade and the dishes were clean and spotless so why not try CS?

O.K., whites are dry and smelling nice, no chemical smell, seems fluffy enough. I am so happy!

I am so in love w/Charlie. Thank eveyone of you for input here. I wasted so much money on detergents and chemical pretreatments in past and all it takes is CS.And I'm hoping my BF dermatitis might perhaps get better too.

I'm thinking, maybe I should just use the rest of the Woolite in the DW now :)

I have one request for CS company. Please link your checkout to PAYPAL, I actually got my first 10 lb from ebay because I didn't feel like getting up from bed to get CC to pay at Charlies website (my laptop is in my bed).

I'm going to give my friends CS to try.

Sometimes it's the little things that makes us happy. In my case it's CS.

When mc was having the sudsing problems with the Whirlpool Duet I had suspected it may have been the detergent. I went out and purchased some Tide HE liquid. Upon using it I had the same trouble as mc with oversudsing and the suds not rinsing out. Out of curiosity, I sent Tide an email explaining my problem in detail. I explained that I had purchased Tide HE liquid for my Frigidaire Affinity. Specifically told them the type of machine too. I informed them about the excessive suds, the poor rinsibility, the stiffness and the fact I can not use fabric softener due to having small children and the effects it would have on the flame retardent on their clothes. I explained that due to the liquid formulas concentration, I was unable to cut the amount of liquid used back to a safe level. I even informed them that I had seen others mention similiar problems on the net. I was very nice in my email and this was the response I got. You might be experiencing buildup of detergent and mineral deposits in the outside tub of your washer. This can happen when cold water is consistently used for washing. Here's how you can fix that: add 1/2 gallon of white vinegar to a full tub of hot water. Run the washer through a complete cycle without clothing. If this resolves the problem you may want to repeat the process every 6 months. -- Overloading the washer can be a cause. Suds can become trapped in clothing if there's not enough room for them to circulate freely. -- Using regular detergent in a high efficiency washer. If you have one of the new HE washers, make sure you're using HE detergent, like Tide HE. A final word, it isn't unusual to see suds in the sink when the rinse water drains. My Frigidaire front loader is dying after 12 years, so I'm in the market. So many options and such a wide price range... I realize that my old washer had three cycles--regular, permanent press (which doesn't spin as fast) and delicate. 95% of the time we just use regular. We do use the extra rinse option. We use hot, cold, and warm as needed. We never use the delay option. So I realize it is easy to get seduced by options. Many of the new $1000 washers have so many options, and I realize we'd never use most of them. You think, you know, if I had these great options, I might use them. But I bet after the first month you go back to two or three options and never use the rest. I also see the front loaders have sanitize cycles now. I never really had a problem with mold or smells in mine (except the soap tray area), but I wonder if this cycle is specifically to get rid of mold people talk about. Two salespeople now have told me that LG and Samsung are the best sellers now, and one person said they have a few more returns on LG, even though Samsung bought the design and technology from LG. FWIW. In playing with a couple of models in the store, they have a clock that shows how much time is left in the cycle. I'm suprised that most cycles are between 50 minuts and 70 minutes. Seems like my washer takes about 25 minutes for a load, and that is with the extra rinse cycle. All models are digital now, which is a little bit annoying and probably more prone to expensive repairs. Anyway, I'm debating on a new Samsung (Great reviews on various websites) in the $700 range, or just get a more basic (smaller) Frigidaire or Whirlpool or maytag at the Sears outlet store.

Thank you, Julia. wasn't doing so good all day,and my daughter asked me if I would like to go to wal mart to get a few things, and I told her yes,i would, so we went and caught in a real downpour trying to get back to the car whenwe wa leaving the store.It came a flood, she got wetter then I did, but we ok.I wish you could grow some of these nice ruffled ones, too as they are so pretty. rutz.Thank you, miss laucius is a 7 inch bloom, some times 7.5.I couldn't find where it was at until I spotted that bloom sticking up. Nice to see "Happy Campers".. was was hopeful as the load, long time as it was, seemed to load everything, all my history and some rather old drivers, e.g., Palm Desk Top. But over a short time, must be about the start of this thread date, the whole computer has bogged down, not just browser, both Firefox and IE, I'm not using the newer whatever-browser, but even the WiFi interface. I try to remember to shut down my WiFi when I am done, but leaving the computer on. Then I click on the wireless Icon and click connect. It is not a click, click, click operation, long (what 5+ seconds or longer) delay getting to each click. Wasn't that way in the beginning. I use a password as that is port of the IE security for saved passwords, I use a master pass word on Firefox.. suppose that's the problem? Wasn't in the beginning. Just before this exploration and gripping Firefox forgot all, I mean all, its personal data. I did a refresh on Firefox, then a restore on Windows 10, still total amnesia for Firefox. I have backup on a flash drive, but haven't plugged that in to recover. Seems houzz log on survived, must be something at the houzz end, not Firefox memory. On Linux, I used the Ubuntu GRUB to set up the dual boot, and right now I don't recall what the problem is... maybe it too slowed down, maybe there's something wrong with my mental clock too high an expectation. That possibility noted, I did some blogging on the Ubuntu forum, now a member, and there was some agreement on the problem. I have considered using XUbuntu to resurrect a XP Dell desktop that is very sick. But rather than dual boot, thinking using a USB Hard drive as the boot for XUbuntu and leave the Windows boot loader in tack. I think that leads to my too slow peeve. I suppose I may have problems with drivers too with Ubuntu.. I want to run my laser printers for one thing. The one dual boot I have worked "out of the box" with my WiFi.

I had to comment on something you said...that you used Woolite and baking soda in the dishwasher! I would have tought that the woolite would have created a lot of suds. Glad it worked out find thought.

You can buy a small sample of their powder detergent from their website. I would actually order two so you can get a good idea if it will really work for you or not.

The woolite is HE too so no suds at all. And sorry Joe, It's been long time for me and I don't keep up w/Czech stuff anymore.

If there's a trial size available, it's something new. The salesman who posts here frequently said they do not have any small sizes because of cost.

Has anyone tried doing a load with Dr. Bronner's?

Re DR. Bonnor's soap: the worrying phrase comes in the description of the sodium lauryl sulphate and coco-betaine ingredient descriptions, i.e., ...."generates copious suds ..." and ..."foam boosting cleansing agent". That's certainly not what you want in a FL.

If you can't wash a garment with soap and water (i.e. dry clean only), you shouldn't use Charlie's Soap. It needs the water to work. If a garment isn't colorfast (usually says so on the tag), Charlie's Soap will do a pretty decent job of pulling out the dye. Anything else, is fair game.

I wish CS were available in bulk at places like Whole Foods so I could try a little and compare it to what we're using now. I've asked around to see if any nearby family or friends use CS and none have even heard of it.

Chipshot, just buy the small bag - what's the big deal? I've never seen laundry detergent sold in bulk. Oatmeal yes, detergent no. Just buy the smallest bag of Charlie's and if you don't like it then donate it to an animal shelter and you did a good deed.
