Ruby is not a happy camper

We call Ruby "OCD Dog" for a reason. She does not like change. She can handle the difference between week-end and week-day schedules fine, as long as there is a familiar schedule to follow. But deviate from those schedules and she sulks around with a limp tail and slumpy attitude.

My computer used to be in the corner of the family room. We have moved the desk back into what used to be the office, and the computers are there now. Ruby does NOT want to come in this room with me. She sits in the doorway and sighs deeply, and will turn her head and look longingly towards the area we used to sit in.

Sometimes she will venture in but wants on my lap instead of under the desk like usual. I cannot balance a snorty bowling ball on my legs while I am on the computer, thank you. There is a comfy futon in here right behind me she can lie on (I know the floor is cold) and if I sit there she will happily jump up and sleep on it. But apparently that is a GROUP activity and she cannot do it alone.

She keeps roaming from room to room trying to find a comfy place, but she really wants me to go in the other room and sit on the couch so she can lie against me. I have tried blankets on the floor, a mat under the desk, and a cushion but she acts like they are satan and won't even allow herself to be pushed onto them. If I try to lift her and plunk her down, she lifts her legs and tries to scramble back up on thin air LOL. Such a difficult little thing!

Sigh. Poor, poor Ruby. I don't know what will happen next week. I am getting a new couch cover. She might never be the same ;).
