Happy Birthday Petaloid!

I know it's almost over, but I just found out - I was out most of the day today. Anyway, I hope you have had a wonderful birthday, and the weather was certainly cooperating. My friend Maartje's birthday is on Friday, and she's already let me know what she wants!

Sorry for the delay in the birthday wishes.

Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. The only birthday wish I have left (besides more rain) is to hope that I get to see you all again as frequently and as soon as may be. Rosefolly

Thank you all. It is also Henry Ford's birthday! We are celebrating tomorrow when the kids can come down for dinner that Mom cooks! With the two little grandsons in tow, dinner out is not doable these days.

Thanks!!! I had a good, food-centered birthday with my parents and husband.

Breakfast at The Filling Station in Orange. Really good eggs Benedict and scrumptious pumpkin pie with crust like shortbread -- it almost made my brains fall out, what is left of them.

Supper at Waterloo & City in Culver City. All sorts of goodies, including an astonishing terrine with eel and foie gras together, a yummy wild mushroom pizza with smoked mozzarella and truffle oil, and another tasty pizza with brussels sprouts, black forest ham and parmesan.
