Did anyone watch the final episode of Medium tonight?

This has been one of my favorite shows, and they ended it with a fantastic final episode. Even the closing credits are worth watching.

That took me by surprise. I didn't know it was the final episode. Yes, I liked how they did the final credits, but I'll miss the show.

It will be on in 1 hour where I live. Was also surprised to see it is the series finale. Too bad, I have enjoyed the show very much; hopefully the networks will replace it with something decent to watch on a Friday night.

Oh my. What is a passionate rose lover like you doing in that glacial hell hole? Reading about your endeavors has exhausted me and I haven't even lifted a shovel. I admire your grit and determination, but would love to see you rewarded with thousands of blooms on your rose bushes for all your hard work. I bet they could use engineers in zones 7 to 10!

Here is the one for CCC: Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies from the Episode: The Cookie Jar Avoid using a nonstick skillet to brown the butter; the dark color of the nonstick coating makes it difficult to gauge when the butter is browned. Use fresh, moist brown sugar instead of hardened brown sugar, which will make the cookies dry. This recipe works with light brown sugar, but the cookies will be less full-flavored. For our winning brand of chocolate chips, see related tasting. Makes 16 cookies 1 3/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (8 3/4 ounces) 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 3/4 sticks) 1/2 cup granulated sugar (3 1/2 ounces) 3/4 cups packed dark brown sugar (5 1/4 ounces) (see note) 1 teaspoon table salt 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 large egg 1 large egg yolk 1 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks (see note) 3/4 cup chopped pecan or walnuts, toasted (optional) See Illustrations Below: Don't Bake in Batches 1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 375 degrees. Line 2 large (18- by 12-inch) baking sheets with parchment paper. Whisk flour and baking soda together in medium bowl; set aside. 2. Heat 10 tablespoons butter in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until melted, about 2 minutes. Continue cooking, swirling pan constantly until butter is dark golden brown and has nutty aroma, 1 to 3 minutes. Remove skillet from heat and, using heatproof spatula, transfer browned butter to large heatproof bowl. Stir remaining 4 tablespoons butter into hot butter until completely melted. 3. Add both sugars, salt, and vanilla to bowl with butter and whisk until fully incorporated. Add egg and yolk and whisk until mixture is smooth with no sugar lumps remaining, about 30 seconds. Let mixture stand 3 minutes, then whisk for 30 seconds. Repeat process of resting and whisking 2 more times until mixture is thick, smooth, and shiny. Using rubber spatula or wooden spoon, stir in flour mixture until just combined, about 1 minute. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using), giving dough final stir to ensure no flour pockets remain. 4. Divide dough into 16 portions, each about 3 tablespoons (or use #24 cookie scoop). Arrange 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets, 8 dough balls per sheet. (Smaller baking sheets can be used, but will require 3 batches.) 5. Bake cookies 1 tray at a time until cookies are golden brown and still puffy, and edges have begun to set but centers are still soft, 10 to 14 minutes, rotating baking sheet halfway through baking. Transfer baking sheet to wire rack; cool cookies completely before serving.

I happen to get up at 0530 yesterday (that usually never happens) and I am not a speedy dicer so I decided to take my time and pre-dice all the veggies. That's probably the most labor intensive part for me.

Well, my granite person that the builder sent me to sent me a collection of stone this morning he had found and they were AWFUL! Absolutely horrible. Some of them were not even blue- they were GRAY with tiny blue specs! I told him that there wasn't one slab I would even go and look at in person :( So, now I'm doing my own research to find someone who might carry what I want and if he can't get it for me, I'll just buy it separately and have it installed myself. I am very upset :( The pop out bathroom shelf thing, I'm going to have something kind of similar to this fabricated, except our tiles our bigger and I want it to kind of pop out when you press the tile front, like those magnetic cabinets do. That way, you won't see bottles or other stuff in the shower: Since no one is cooking really anyway, I guess it won't matter if my sink is directly opposite my stove. I really think I'm going to end up leaving it that way b/c the asymmetry would drive me nuts. I am just so upset about the bad blues :(

Hubs and I have watched Medium since it started, back when it was on NBC. We were so glad that CBS picked it up when NBC dumped it off the schedule. And now we're sad that it has ended.

We missed the first I'm-not-sure-how-many minutes of the show because the local CBS affiliate was airing footage of yet another car being pulled from a canal where the suspected kidnapper of a 4-year-old boy was allegedly spotted driving into the canal with the child in the car. (gee, sorry about that run-on sentence!)

Anyway, the car turned out not to be related to this crime, so there's still some hope that the child will be found alive.

But, we did catch a glimpse of the District Attorney who was blown up in his car. How many of you recognized him? He was the pharmacist on Desperate Housewives who killed Bree's first husband by deliberately filling a prescription with the wrong medication.

And did any of you recognize the guy who was on trial? He was one of the FBI agents on Without a Trace (another good show that was canceled at the end of last season).

Loved the ending/closing credits of Medium tonight when they showed the montages of how the actors had changed over the seasons.

Sigh. We're going to miss this show...

We watched in the beginning,years ago but sorry it just got too weird. I can second the HOPE for decent Friday night programming. There is NOTHING on. Last night DH was watching the history of grease/ industrial lubricants. Seriously! Books are a GOOD thing!!

I think The Defenders is moving to Friday nights. I enjoy that show - hope it makes a go of it. It is on ABC.

Lindsey..Thanks for being my brain. I KNEW those two faces were so familiar but I couldn't remember which shows they were on. Of course..Bree's dead husband and and With Out A Trace guy. That was another of my favorite shows that got canceled. I like it when a show wraps it up neatly. I loved ALL the characters on Medium..the girls , Joe, Allison, DA, and the rest..

I stopped watching Medium some years ago for various reasons, but I just watched the season finale online at cbs.com. To avoid spoilers, I'll just say that it was a very sad, yet uplifting episode. I'm glad I watched it so that I could have a sense of closure about the TV Dubois family.

I will miss the show. Loved watching how the daughters grew up and changed. Bridget was my favorite. We were talking before the show started and my husband said maybe Joe will get killed off and I said, "no way!" then it happened. I was a little disappointed that the girls didn't get more air time on this last episode. Would have liked some reason for them all to be together.

Who was the child who was talking to her on the phone at the end. She called Allison Great Grandma - was it supposedly Ariel's grandchild?

Oh great. I knew I shouldn't read this thread, then I did. Medium is my favorite show and I didn't see it last night; I normally watch it On Demand. So - now I know at least one spoiler. Crud. My fault; I shouldn't have read this.

I only started to watch Medium a couple of years ago, and just last month bought all of the previous seasons on DVD from eBay. I've really been enjoying them.

I loved it - I cried so hard - I kept thinking that I would do the same thing and bring my DH back if I could... I didn't know it was the last episode and it must have been "fate" that I watched it. It was great!

I haven't watched it in years; but heard it was the last one. I think Patricia Arquette's acting was so spot on when she cried for her husband to come back to her; I felt her pain!! So sad. And I don't ususally get into tv shows because we all know they're not real; but that sure seemed real!
