Pretty bathroom! The first suggestion I have is to look for a narrow, closed cabinet that will fit next to the toilet. It would come in handy to store extra rolls of toilet tissue, personal items, etc. You can bring in some extra color with what you put on top of it and over it ( aframed picture, perhaps). I'd look for a cab with a couple doors in the same wood tones as your sink cab.

How about some wide, simple moulding , painted black or stained the same color as your sink cab to frame the mirror?

Where are you going to put the leaning ladder? The area next to the toilet needs something in the space. Is it going there? I would put a low-ish cabinet on that big empty wall and keep the area round the toilet 'roomy'. Crown molding around the room would really make a big difference. Is there a bathtub in the room too? What does the bathtub area look like? Are there windows that are going to get window treatments? Are you going for a Zen look or MCM or what?

I was going to put the leaning ladder next to the toliet, and put "personals" in baskets. But I do like the idea for using a matching cabinet. I don't have a bathtub. There are no windows. This used to be a pantry (lol). I love MCM and Zen but I think this bathroom is screaming to be Zen. I am 100% with you that the bathroom needs crown. Simple crown but something. I think DH is coming around to that idea although it took some pushing. I just think I need to get off my behind and go to Home Goods after I locate the storage.

The room has a lot of hard surfaces that need to be softened. Getting the towels in will help with that. You need some things out of natural materials that are found in nature. Some things that are curvy or rounded will help. Bring in a colored mat outside the shower in the Amber or Burnt Orange you say you want to bring in from the tiles. The one there now is too pale.

I was going to suggest some green plants like Aloe Vera or some low light, green plants like snake plant or a row of succulents in Amber pots, but with no window at all you may have to go with fakes. You need a little bit of something "live" in there. Fake succulents can look quite real but of course live ones are best for good Feng Shui.

Fake:

Maybe a hamper or storage unit to the left of the sink that can also double as a place to sit down. You do not have a tub or any ledge so there is no place to sit to dry ones feet or what ever. It doubles for storage too.

Get an interesting wastebasket made from a natural material like wood.

Since everything is so angular and square in the room already, try to bring in some curvy items to mix in. Besides the typical, square rattan, storage baskets on the ladder shelf put in a surprise storage basket like this faux leather one mixed with the plain ones.

Or try to use a unique and interesting basket for the toiletry storage so it does not look like a Pottery Barn copy. Mix a couple of something like this in with the other plain rectangular wicker ones.

Get a stone or volcanic rock soap dish. Or even wood. Something out of natural material that gives a soft feel.

dilly_dally, I love your suggestions! Lara71, I love your wall color that looks great with your tiled shower and tiled floors. The room is very nice and promising and just needs a few warming touches. What color are your walls? I love the backsplash type of design in the shower stall that really adds to the bathroom and goes so well with the tiles.

A towel bar near the sink is needed. Something curvey and solid looking. This one has a way to store the clean ones and then hang them after use. Just an idea.

I could deffinitely see white Amaryllis or a vase of pussy willows on your vanity, and maybe a heavy candle holding sconce on the wall, along with a couple of pictures. Have you looked in your local CL for artwork? Ya never know.

I just wanted to toss out some ideas for inspiration. I hope I did not become a thread killer. I never mean for my posts to sound like dictates. If the OP (or anybody) thinks my accessories ideas suck, its OK. Nothing wrong with saying "That won't work in this space." Or "I changed my mind and Zen won't work for this room."

lynn2006: Thank you! The wall color is SW Nantucket Dune. The tile I got from my local florim outlet for about 100. The stone detail is from Home depot for about 9 per one foot length.
flyleft: I got the vanity on ebay, and the shower. The vanity was 700 with shipping? And the shower was 400 with shipping. I will attempt to find this seller and send you the link.

As I said before this bathroom used to be a pantry and the grand total of this bathroom to include all labor and materials was about 9k. That was mostly labor:( I did really well on materials) but it would have been sad and scary and breaking code if DH & I attempted to move plumbing and mess with electricity.

Almost forgot, flyleft: the towel bars were all home depot.

The second mat in teak is from Target and cost $20, which was more than the other bamboo one cost I remember. I do not remember where it is from, but notCB2 I know.

I like your ladder shelf idea, something light an airy like that instead of a boxy cabinet. The ladder shelf has harsh angles. There is curvy shelving available too, that still has a Zen feel. This one is from Brocade. Imagine it filled with rolled towels and linen covered storage boxes, instead of the frosted cupcakes they show. (Why cupcakes?) Something like this would fill in the big blank wall near the toilet.

The storage cube is from http://www.bobbyberkhome.com . It is a whopping $575 but Brocade Home has a similar one for $160. It does not have the mirror chrome base to give it that light weight look, nor the stud detailing. Maybe you could add that on your own. You could get an aluminum round cake pan for like $7 for the bottom and the little metal studs to glue on the pin points for a couple bucks. Get heavy duty 14 gauge aluminum pans so they have stability. Also check out electrical supply places that sell aluminum rounds.

Believe it or not, those towels were from CB2 and I see now that they are no longer available. I was at Marshals yesterday and saw some towels that had rounds instead of rectangulars woven into them. That could be another option. I found those posted just by Googleing 'orange towels' and hit them when they came up in the thumbnails.

I agree that you need a storage piece in the corner to the right (looking head-on) of the commode. I would put a tall corner cabinet there, as tall as you can get it. Otherwise, except for your shower stall, everything will be at the same level around the room.

While I love those teak "bathmats," your bathroom needs softness somewhere.... I would buy pure white top-quality cotton bathmats and put one near the shower and the sink. Also, you need a place to sit (don't you?) and I would get an inexpensive armless slipper chair (home decorators collection has these) and have a thick white toweling slipcover made for it. You can have it made from towels you get at Tuesday Morning on clearance :) Just be sure to wash and dry them first... then you have a great place to sit that can be laundered easily.

I think I would get a beautiful natural weave basket to hang on the wall and roll up extra white towels and washcloths to store as both a practical help and interesting wall decor.

Finally, one big, beautiful print of a waterfall or brook or stream, washing over pebbled rocks that would recall the tile border in your shower.... framed with the dark wood and a silver bead mat.

You have a beautifully spare, clean, "hotel" looking bathroom that is already lovely. I wouldn't do too much to it and spoil that pristine cleanliness aspect. Nice job on the construction! :)
