Got an email in my hotmail account. Too funny. Do people really think we're *that* stupid?

Notice the "from name", then check out her email address. Now read the body of the email. Oh gee! They're completely different!

I have a friend that has a treasure chest of honkers. They are beautiful, she has rings, bracelets, a Rolex watch, a diamond watch, you name it she can probably find it in her jewelry box. There are some of us who can wear diamonds with great style like we were born to it and others like myself that if I had a large diamond on, i'd probably get arrested. I have one friend who has a ROCK, it is around 7 1/2 carat solitare. Knowing her husband, it was an investment of sorts. She was afraid to wear it until her daughter said "mom go ahead and wear it, the way you dress no one would ever think it was real anyway." I do have a solitare, it's one carat, Neil bought it for me for my 30th anniversary. He said he wanted me to have a larger diamond but he was afraid i'd shoot him for wasting money. When we got married he couldn't afford an engagement ring and had always felt bad because he said he had wanted everyone to know that I was spoken for. It didn't bother me but it did him so now I have a ring. My wedding ring and his are alike, the only thing I asked was that it be a wide band, it is. I will always treasure my wedding ring. When I look at it I am reminded that at least once in my life I got something right.

Thanks for the congrats all :) And PV, I really am not going to peek in that jug again. It can't get transplanted yet because it's too early, and I'm not bringing it in my house...it's going to have to tough it out on its own. If I looked at them again, I might not be able to stick to that plan of not bringing them in (which would screw up everything because I have no room in here anyway!) So not only am I not checking that sprouted container, I'm not checking any other containers either. I feel like it's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell". If anything else has sprouted, I don't want to know. There will be other seeds in that container to take their place if those wither (faith). And, ignorance is bliss :-) Linda

Several people have been saying that, bulldinkle. My feeders weren't up this time last year, but I've been seeing them at least twice a day up to 5-6 times a day nearly every day, all thru June and July. Have seen two at once a couple of times. In August there were more.

Brock, if anybody is guilty of writing too much, it is I, appreciate your input on the matter. I believe you are correct, it's Chinese or Japanese roof iris aka crested iris (did some googline). I did see zone 5b somewhere which is the colder limit for them, and I definitely think there is a difference b/t 5a and 5b, but I might be able to squeak some things through anyway. Now that is distressing that they may not survive the winter. I just set them out this afternoon, new area where there is no protection, and will have to mulch (or something) for the winter and expect to lose them. There are too many similar in this class to know exactly what to expect. If they make it through the summer, I could pot a few up and bring them inside, but that defeats my purpose as I have enough already to winter inside. They look so nice with that pretty foliage. Yes, I could move some, but I've got scads more plants waiting to be set out. Yes, I agree that some, not all, mail-order retailers exaggerate the zone business because they would lose sales. A topic for another time, tired after setting out 24 plants, used my bulb planter which made things go a little faster. I think I had my tiller set to till and not cultivate, oh well, it had gotten so bad so fast, it needed the extra power, but I'm worried if I could have compromised the roots forming on the Austins I set in there ealier. They should recover.

It was my hotmail account. That's where most of the spam goes. I try not to give my *real* email to anyone on the internet to prevent the garbage from getting in there.

Of course I deleted it. LOL I just got a good laugh from it when I saw the different names and emails on it. Wonder how many people actually reply to those...........

I would take a look at the full headers on it and see if it suggests it came from the UofP and contact them. This person isn't exactly bright so it could well be an employee!

Now I have to get going. I have a Nigerian General working a deal to make me rich!!! :D

It looks to have come from the Univ. of Phoenix (mainly a distance-learning outfit, I think).

It appears that there's no such website ... let alone such a person at that address.

I've received scores of such messages - many purportedly from at least a couple of dozen officials of various categories in the Bank of Africa in Oagadougou, Burkina Faso ... offering usually from 10 million on up.

Added up, they'd almost surely have come to a billion in total, by now.

Several seem to use an address based at "live.com".

I'm sorry that most seem to come to my core addresses, not the screeners (e.g. "junkmailforall") that I use for questionable activities.

Some internet providers want to hear, including "Full headers" - many don't.

A number of financial institutions, etc., aren't too interested in the particualrs when someone has rigged an official-looking site when asking for particulars of one's bank account, etc. Some are - they want the message forwarded, including "Full headers".

I've got that kind of stuff purportedly from PayPal, as well.

Hope you make it through it with your integrity intact.
