Just an FYI, Woot.com has roombas on sale for $144 (includes taxes, shipping, etc), for anyone that's interested.

That was yesterday's deal. Well, that is, it was the deal that was put up at midnight Wednesday/Thursday. The deal that's on right now is a Wolfking Warrior Game Pad Keyboard.

The deal changes every night at midnight Central Time (except when there's a Woot Off, which is a different animal altogether...).

well yes, that was the deal that was going on when I posted...I realize it's One Deal a Day and that it changes...I thought I was doing a favor by announcing since I'd seen some people were talking about wanting one. My mistake.

We have a Scooba. This is what you can expect in the future. We've had one of these for a few years and, in general, we like it. We only use it for our kitchen. At the beginning of 2008 the battery went bad and I contacted iRobot about it because the new ones are $70.00 and I felt it was too expensive considering the length of time we had the unit. Well, the one they sent me (free except for me shipping the old one back - which I appreciated) just died. I called them again to see if they would give me a reduced price on a new one. Nope. Replace it since it only lasted two years? Nope. Trash can! We will be cleaning our floor by hand from now on. $35.00 a year for maintenance is too high, especially when you consider the exorbitant cost of the cleaning fluid, and the initial cost of the robot. Over the long haul these are a ripoff. I guess I've learned my lesson. Now I have to find someone that will buy all our cleaner...

Mclarke, Really? Mine has problems with rug fringe. I got it for X-mas last year and now I wish I could buy the new one that can handle tassels. I have to either pick up my rugs or tuck the fringe under (doesn't always work). My rugs are pretty light weight, though, resembling kilims and thank god I only have two (I was pretty disappointed when my mother got me the second one, because of the implications). I feel my roomba is actually better on hard surfaces than on rugs. It doesn't fall down the stairs. I have the scheduler and the walls, but never used them. When I want it to stay somewhere, I just put some chairs to cover the opening (this is because I never got batteries for the walls, this is how lazy I am). The scheduler is a different problem. I basically want to clear the floors of clothes and other random items before I run the roomba, so i don't put it on the scheduler You will to some extra work with this. Like clean the corners and baseboards, but I feel like if you run it often, it keeps the overall dust level low, so stuff doesn't get dirty as fast. I love my roomba, but wish it could love my fringe. Pinar

I've bought several things from WOOT and the only problem I had was with the first item I ordered, a Roomba. They shipped it FedX, signature required. I didn't know that that was how they were going to send it. I had just started a new job so I couldn't stay home and wait for it. After three tries to deliver I got a note saying it could be picked up at their main facility which was 40 miles away. There was no way for me to get there during work hours. I tried and tried to get them to transfer it to the facility next to my office, no. I tried to get them to deliver without a signature, no. I tried to get them to deliver to a neighbor, no. I asked them to deliver to my office, they said YES ... but they never did. Somewhere along the line I called WOOT and asked them to deal with FedX and they tried, but still, FedX wasn't budging. Over a week went by and finally I had hassled FedX so much the people who answered phones knew me by name. When they messed up and forgot to send it to my office, I called and really raised the roof. The regional manager delivered my Rooba to my home at 8pm on a Friday night! WOOT wasn't really to blame here but just make sure if you order from them to ask about their shipping. Jodi-

April, that's how I got my Roomba. Someone posted here just as you did, advising that Woot had a Roomba on. I'd never heard of Woot, but followed the link, read a bit about Woot, liked the idea, and bought the Roomba! That was a year or so ago. You made no mistake! I like getting a heads up if someone knows something's going on that I don't I now check Woot almost every day.

Do you all love your Roombas?

I have to admit we bought one when they first came out and I was thrilled with it. For the first half a dozen times. Then it conked out and we got a replacement via the warranty. Then that one gave out too, and I gave up :(
