new favorite movie kitchen/house
Comments (14)I loved the It's Complicated house as well. The whole time they were talking of a kitchen remodel I was thinking I would take that one even if it is not practical. I also loved her bed and bath. I now find myself loving movie kitchens that have older elements in them and that are not so put together. Like old appliances or older flooring, etc. I find that they feel comforting and like a lot of love has gathered in those spaces. The kitchen in "The Family Stone" is an example. Another movie kitchen and house I love is the primary residence on "Spanglish". I didn't get to see much of "The Kids Are Alright" as I had little ones staring up at the TV in the first few seens so it had to be removed and have yet to finish it! I would love to have a movie set designer do my house. A couple of other websites for movie houses is homeshoothome.com. These are real houses marketed for movie filming. The houses from "Step Brothers" and "The Hangover" are on this site. iamnotastalker.com has some good movie house info. There is also one more site with malibu in the title that also involves real homes being marketed for film, but I can't remember the name right now....See MoreFavorite little-known movies or TV shows?
Comments (36)Loved "The Castle" although I think the company that released it for the US, felt they needed to dub over bits of it so that Americans could understand it. Also from "down under", an off-beat love story: Eagle vs Shark and quite possibly the best comedy about Austrailan lawn bowling: Crackerjack (from 2002) And from France: "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis" a comedy about a postal worker who gets transferred to "the sticks" in Northern France....See MoreDo you have a favorite old movie?
Comments (27)The Yearling with Gregory Peck, Jane Wyman and Claude Jarman. The Biscuit Eater, one of the best dog movies ever (the 1940 version, not the remake). Titanic with Barbara Stanwyck. Stella Dallas with Barbara Stanwyck. Lonely Are The Brave with Kirk Douglas. Caged with Eleanor Parker. Imitation of Life with Lana Turner. Each Dawn I Die,, Jimmy Cagney. Public Enemy Number One, with Jimmy Cagney. Yankee Doodle Dandy with Jimmy Cagney. Heck, all of JC's movies! Young Frankenstein, I can quote many lines from the movie!
