I never heard a location and I don't remember them showing a shot of the outside of the house, just inside pictures and some of the land.

The show has paid them very well. I heard that neither of them work now and
she has all kinds of hired help, cooks, maids, nannies etc.
To bad the relationship with her brother Kevin and his wife Jodi has ended.
Same for their friends Beth and Bob.
There seems to be a lot of hard feelings.
There are so many websites about them now.
I think they are paid something like $60,000 an episode and Kate said that she will do anything, including parading her kids in front of cameras to make enough money to have everything they want.
Who knows what's true and what's not.

It is a huge house....really nice. She said it's filthy and needs a LOT of cleaning! I'd love to have that house...it quite big. At least it looked big on TV.

I didn't know they had problems with her brother and SIL...what happened? And their friends too?? Wow...I have to go surfing now to find out the rest. I love that show....I hope she isn't pushing everyone away. She can be annoying at times!

Supposedly the network felt they needed to start paying Jodi and Beth because they were on the show so much. Kate strongly objected. She said that no one was going to be paid but her. There was a big fight and Jodi and Beth are no longer a part of their lives.
Jodi's sister has a blog and told the whole story. It did not say nice things at all about Kate.
She told some things that are pretty disturbing about her.
There are so many message boards and blogs about these people.
There is a gal on another message board I go to that went to one of her book signings. She said she was so rude and unfriendly. At their speaking engagements they still 'pass the hat' for what they call love donations.
Kate will not let her picture be taken with any of her fans....unless the person makes a donation.
It sure seems tho that she has no relationship with any family anymore.
I have seen several interviews with her and Jon. They say they now have a good life because of the kids.
Their ratings have gone way down so I wonder how long the show will continue.
It is said that Figure 8, the film company, actually bought the house as part of their contract and pay for all the hired help. They also pay for all the trips they take. The Hawaii trip and all that went with it were over $100,000.

wow...I had no idea...I just watch it! LOL....I've always thought kate is somewhat of a b!t%& at times. But I do enjoy watching the kids....they are so cute. I think Kate is way too controlling...but then I think maybe with that many kids she has to be!

last nights episode was awful IMO
mostly it was kate griping about the filthy fridge and hollering about poop
oh, and mady kicking one of the little girls 3 or 4 times!
and what does kate do? tells the little one, well stay out of her room

does anyone actually believe that kate spent 4 hours cleaning the fridge? gimme a break, i doubt kate spends 4 hours a week cleaning anything!

I have never cared for the show or Kate. My DD loves to watch the show and the only thing I'm thinking is the camera crew and how much they are being paid. Yes, I am a cynic when it comes to most "reality" shows.

I enjoy the show. Kate can be anal and witchy at times, but I can only imagine how I may have been percieved on camera raising three kids. I just hope their marriage is strong enough to handle it all.
Sad to hear that he extended family is now broken. I liked seeing them as part of the show.

The kids were born near here and Kate was a real pain from the beginning. It was like.."give us stuff since we are so special to have all these kids'..They were in the paper whining they couldn't all go together in a van when they went out. And we thought..why does she thinks she's entitled because she popped out all those kids. She is very controlling. Now that some one just had eight kids..watch out, Kate..

I have the same Sub Zero refrigerator that Kate was complaining about. And I can clean the entire thing in about an hour- and that includes emptying all the food, removing the shelves and drawers, wiping the inside, washing the shelves and drawers and putting everything back. It takes another 15 minutes to vacuum the condenser coils.

Kate is a royal pain. How could she just walk around the house yelling 'who pooped?' - doesn't she ever watch the show? Did I miss it or did she say anything nice about the new place. How will those kids ever manage nursery school if someone has to wipe them?

I found the episode about the new house a bit much to bear; who cares where those kids poop. They stereotype the boys and girls constantly. I too was appalled to watch maddie kicking the little one, not once but quite a few times.

I can't blame jon and kate for capitalizing on their success while it lasts, they are set for life now. I admit I still tune in from time to time for the new shows.

I watched the show a few times because it reminded me of passing by a trainwreck and being 'sucked in to the vortex', so to speak. I find something about her personality disturbing...at least how she appears on TV. And I can't stand watching her denigrate her husband. Whether or not it's done for ratings, I don't know. I do know that it's offensive to me.

Why would anyone want to parade their children in front of the whole world. That can NOT be healthy for the kids.

I am not at all interested in these people. I hate reality shows. The only TV I watch is old movies (Turner Classic Movies) and old TV shows (TVLand).

I think Jon and Kate and the Duggars should team up.Make a show called " Jon and Kate plus Half the population of Arkansas"

This is why I am NOT getting a converter box. I just don't miss any of these shows. I will stick to renting my DVD's and talking to you guys.

I have watched the show off and on, I know I could never be friends with Kate, she has shown NO consideration for any ones feelings. Jon needs to get a backbone. The kids are cute at least the youngest ones. One of the girl twins needs some discipline. If Kate & Jon are alienated with most of their family, there seems to be no doubt where the fault lies there. The theme for these reality based families lately is vacations. The little people family, Kate, Jon & kids and the Duggers, have all gone on vacations and we all have to know, the TV show pays all of the expenses. I only really watch because I think the young kids ares so darn cute. Dottie

Lily, I remember finding Kate's original blog, before they made it big on TV. There was a section where she asked for donations. Then one day she said "see ya" because TV discovered them. It really bothered me.

I can say a whole lot more, but I won't.

Well I have to say this and some may not agree.I think Mattie"I think is her name> is spoil rotten.She is so mean to the other kids.Kate just makes a excuse when mattie acts up.For example kate saids that Mattie is having a melt down.Please.I can't bare to watch this show because one thing I agree Jon needs to get back bone and stand up to Kate.Another thing not sure if anyone seen when they were getting ready for the Thanksgiving issue of Good house keeping and they were making fall pictures.Mattie picked her nose.I wanted to throw up.Kate is a piece of cake.She makes me want to scream.Not trying to sound mean but I hope the shows goes off.I think it will be better for the kids.I agree also she is using the kids to make money off.Now to me its wrong.jodi & her husband was very good to them.

I have not been a fan of this show from the beginning. I will even call it a form of child abuse to benefit the parents financial gain. Years ago the Dionne Quintuplets said it all about how they felt in their younger years about being put on public display for financial gain. These people should have known better but I guess their greed took over. 5 minutes of this program is all I can stand before I am ready to give Kate a real shake. Her friends are better off without her. I can't believe she was once a nurse. BIG SIGH!

I'm like so many, I watch just to see the little kids. But I also think if we didn't watch these shows, they'd go bye bye...Just once, wouldn't you love to see Jon take a stand against Kate???What's she going to do when the kids are all grown and have nothing to do with her????

I always wonder that too, about when the kids grow up and look back on these episodes. Kate and John said that they started doing the show as a way to preserve the memories as the kids grow up because they couldn't possibly do that much video and picture taking being as busy as they would be. What kind of memories will this be for the kids...I sure would want to forget most of it! I liked her in the beginning of the show but I have seen her get worse over time. More rude and just horrible to her hubby. I would love to see if he goes off on her off camera! I can hear some snippiness in his voice at times...wonder if he lets her have it when the crew isn't around. My DH would! I do love to watch the kids though...all but Madi, she makes me want to slap her. I have a feeling her mom might have acted this way as a child. Those little ones are so cute though!

I agree with all above, and it is so sad that they "dissed" family for money - after all, it IS all about family.

I watched once when Job & Kate took the 2 olders girls, the twins, to the American Girl store for their birthday. That was not too bad, but other than that - Kate does denegrate Jon, and she criticizes the kids so much.... I will not watch again.
